Marriage Weekend The weekend of February 10/11 in all parishes of the Archdiocese of Toronto has been designated as Marriage Sunday. A special weekend for Married Couples, Widows, Widower s. We will invite all married couples to renew their wedding vows during Mass at the same time we will pray for those preparing for marriage as well as all widows and widower s. Our prayers will also embrace those who are separated, divorced and facing troubles in their relationships. Take a Stroll Down Memory Lane Please join us on the weekend of February 10/11 for a Coffee after all the Masses. Join in the celebration of the Marriage Weekend by bringing in a photocopy of your wedding picture (if you did not submit one last year). Give to a welcomer or drop off at the parish office with Bride and Grooms name and Brides maiden name. They will be displayed in the hall on the weekend of February 10/11 2018. Many thanks to everyone who donated to our Sock Drive this year. We collected 235 pairs of socks - 150 pairs last year!! They have been distributed to the Light House in Orillia, the Busby Centre in Barrie, and the Foot Clinic run by Sr. Rosemary McGinn CSJ in Toronto. Lapel Rose Sunday The Knights of Columbus willl be selling Lapel Roses for Life on 3/4 February to help support the Unborn. It is free will donations. All money goes to the Pregnancy Crises Centre in Orillia. Sunday Brunch The Knights of Columbus will host a Sunday Brunch on Sunday, February 4 immediately following the 9:00 am and 11:00 am Masses. Public Speaking Contest-Monday, 5 February The Mary Matthews Public Speaking Contest sponsored by the CWL will take place at 6:30 pm in the Guardian Angels parish hall. Students from the different separate schools will be competing. We are inviting parishioners to come out and support these students. Refreshments to follow. KOC General Meeting The Knights of Columbus Council #1428 will hold their next General Meeting on Tuesday, February 6 at 7:00 pm. CWL Ladies Need Your Help CWL Ladies are working on a project to help homeless women in our community. We are looking for gently used purses, so we can fill them with items women could use. Items needed are purses, hair brush, comb, tampons, mitts, gloves, socks, Tim card for a coffee, notebook/pen, cough candies, small chocolate bar, lip balm, emery boards, nail polish etc. Whatever you think a women might need to lift her spirits and know somebody cares about them. If you would like to help with this project there will be boxes at all three entrances plus one at Sacred Heart, Warminster to receive your donations.
