THE BREAD BASKET Morsels from Bread of Life Lutheran Church October 2017 Bread of Life Lutheran Church 7510 36 th Avenue Hudsonville, MI 49426 (616)797-9930 Pastor Paul Krupinski Cell (616)635-0058 Email: bollc@breadoflifelc.org Web: www.breadoflifelc.org Search for us on Facebook www.facebook.com/ Breadoflife Sunday Worship Schedule with Holy Communion We invite you to worship, grow & serve with us! First of all, what a wonderful month (plus one day) we had to celebrate our 25 th anniversary as a chartered congregation. It was good to have Pastor Rob Dorow and Pastor Joan Oleson with us and the food was great for our anniversary dinner. Let s hope and pray that the next 100 years will be just as good as the past twenty-five. October is the month wherein we Lutherans celebrate the 500 th anniversary of the Reformation. A couple of events you should be aware of: (1) Renewed in Word, Faith and Grace...a juried Art Show will be on exhibit beginning October 1 st through October 31 st...show is open and free to the public at the following locations: Trinity Lutheran Church, 2700 Fulton St. E 49506 St. Luke s Lutheran Church. 3215 Four Mile Rd. 49525 Christ Lutheran Church, 2350 44 th St. SW 49519 Faith Lutheran Church, 2740 Fuller Ave. NE 49505 Samaritas Senior Living, 2000 32 nd St. SE 49508 Catholic Information Center 360 Division Ave. S, Suite 2A (2) Shared Worship observance on Sunday, October 29 th at 3:00 p.m. with a service of Common Prayer at the Cathedral of St. Andrew with Catholic Bishop David Walkowiak and Lutheran Bishop Craig Satterlee co-presiding. For us at Bread of Life: Sunday, October 15 th : A special meeting of the congregation will follow worship to address concerns over the replacement of our heating and air-conditioning unit. Wednesday, October 18 th : Quilts head to Baltimore & Foreign Missions Saturday, October 21 st : Sunday, October 22 nd : Our annual Second Best Sale First meeting of confirmation class following worship. The usual brilliant colors of autumn are subdued this year because it has been awfully dry this summer...such a shame, because the foliage in the fall is one of my most precious memories and something I look forward to every year. Our great God certainly has gifted us with some of the most spectacular expressions of nature. Always remember to thank God in your prayers for the wonders and beauty of his world and work hard to take care of the resources nature provides for us. Well, time to close this tome and move onto other matters. Take care of yourselves and may God continue to bless you and all of your loved ones! See you at worship! Pastor Paul
