SCC Thailand Ministry Team January 30 February 14, 2019 Team Leaders: Don Klaassen & Elaine McCormack planning for a team of seven The purpose of this team is to encourage and assist the ongoing ministry of SCC missionaries in Thailand by helping out with a servant heart in whatever way possible. The team also hopes to bless the missionaries and Thai people through the support of a number of worthy projects. #1. Ricky and Karen Sanchez have an extension ministry in Cambodia that the SCC team will visit where there is a critical need for eyeglasses. 1000 custom fitted eye glasses will cost $4000 ($4 per set). #2. Cynthia Friesen provides vocational training for young women re-entering society after incarceration. The team will provide $4000 worth of equipment such as an industrial sewing machine and woodworking tools. #3. Jon and Bonnie Esau support the work of Indigenous evangelists. Audio Bibles in the local dialect produced by Wycliffe Bible Translators are in great demand among local believers for evangelism and discipleship. Funds are also required for believers to travel to training events in the area. Cost of these projects is $4000. Total Fundraising goal is $27,400 (including the above projects, expenses & travel). Funds raised in excess of goal will remain with the Fund for Thai Missions Projects. Please make your cheque to Sardis Community Church and designate it to Thailand Fund. The theme of this year s Doorway Fundraiser is Everyone has a story, and the Decorating Committee needs books of any kind.
