To date, the Christian Church has started 980 churches in the United States and Canada, thus sharing the gospel with more than 61,500 individuals since initiating the 2020 Vision in 2000. As a tradition here at First Christian Church, we typically hand out Cracker Jacks to all Fathers. Why? We are not sure! Is it just a tradition or is there more to the story?

Midway Check-up June marks the official start of summer and the beginning of the second half of the year. This is a perfect time to do what I like to call a Midway Check-up! A Midway Check-up is extremely helpful for measuring one s individual, communal, and personal spiritual goals. At beginning of each year, our excitement and anticipation for what s ahead propels us to establish a laundry list of things we would like to accomplish in the New Year. June is a great point to stop and do a reality check to determine how much progress we ve made towards those goals that we ve set. During this season many people are in a celebratory mode because of proms, graduations, and other major life milestones symbolizing their transition to another phase of life. Without these milestones it becomes increasingly easy for people to lose sight of their personal progress they ve made in their lives. A Midway Check-up will temporarily redirect the focus from the goals we desire, to the progression and achievements we have already accomplished. After a moment of honest reflection it will enable us to move forward with clarity and if necessary redefined purpose. Yes, some of the goals remain unsatisfied for a variety of reason, but it does not mean we have failed! Take a moment to reflect and celebrate what has been achieved, and if necessary redefine a strategy for accomplishing your goals in the second half of the year. We may not be there yet, but through the power of Christ we can continue working towards accomplishing our goals. 2 Corinthians 13:5-6 states: Examine yourselves to see whether you are living in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not realize that Jesus Christ is in you? unless, indeed, you fail to meet the test! I hope you will find out that we have not failed. Pastor D. Marie 2 Rev. Plocinski Leads Holy Land Tour Pastor Rich Plocinski of the Millville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is planning a trip to the Holy Land to walk where Jesus walked in March, 2018. If you are interested in joining him please contact him by phone 570-458-5374 or by email teachpast@gmail.com. The trip leaves JFK on March 6 and returns on March 15 and the costis $2500. Maybe a trip to the Holy Land is on your bucket list. It is on Pastor Rich's, so join him!
