Imlay City CRC The Dog Bone Scripture Series God s Word is integral to our life and health. It is our goal at ICCRC to increase your understanding and reading of God s Word in 2014. Scripture has attributes that are life-giving to you and will sustain you your whole life through. Pastor Dave will show that it s a SNAP to remember the attributes of Scripture. Sufficiency of Scripture Necessity of Scripture Authority of Scripture Perspicuity of Scripture Continuing today and for the 2 weeks of January we are going to chew together in unison on God s tasty Word. God s Word will become so tasty to you that you never want to let it out of your mouth. Pastor Dave is giving a message series entitled: The Dog Bone Scripture Series, and we will look at the 4 attributes of Scripture: The Authority of Scripture, the Perspicuity of Scripture, the Necessity of Scripture, and the Sufficiency of Scripture and Pastor Dave promises to do it at a level that you can understand, take home, and apply it to your lives. That s what January holds!! February will again be Family Month. Pastor Dave will give a message series that will help you cope with parenting & grandparenting and marriage and relationships in your family. Worship Center ANNOUNCEMENTS GENERAL FUND OFFERINGS: Actual amount received through November 30, 2013 $ 208,817.79 Budgeted amount expected through November 30, 2013 $ 218,213.80 Difference: $ 9,396.01 9th/10th 7th/8th PEANUT ALLERGY please be aware to keep this church peanut and nut free with snacks or cookies or anything of the sort. There are a few regular attending children who are allergic to nut products and one child is severely allergic to peanuts and other nut products. So please adjust accordingly for the sake of these dear children. Thank you. CHILDREN S MINISTRY We are in search for a new Children's Ministries Coordinator. This position will be posted this week and next in the bulletin. If you are interested, please ask Norm Tanis for a Position Description Sheet. Jennifer French will be moving to the Toledo area very soon due to a promotion that her husband, Tom, was granted in Ohio. Much has to take place with the selling of their home and other transitional things, so Jennifer will be available to help train the new coordinator for a smooth transition. We thank Jennifer for blessing us with her gifts with children and VBS and many other areas in church. Prayer Needs Order of Worship Welcome Pray for the family of Art Vlieg as they mourn his passing. Keep the family of Don Mosher in your prayers as they mourn his passing. Also pray for the West Goodland United Methodist Church as they mourn the loss of their pastor. Condolences may be sent to his wife Sharry Mosher at 6956 Lothrop Rd. Imlay City, MI 48444. Continued prayers for Aimee VanDenBerg's family as they mourn the loss of Aimee's grandfather. Pray for Candy Shoults' father who is in Port Huron Hospital with breathing problems. Pray for Dan Stern's father who had serious bowel surgery and is in ICU now. Continue to pray for the shut-ins of our church and their needs. Guest Information Welcome! You are among friends at Imlay City CRC. We are the young and old, the experienced Christians, the brand new Christians, and those who are just curious about Jesus Christ. We are families, singles, students, kids, and couples. Wherever you are coming from, and wherever you are at, you are welcome to come as you are to Imlay City CRC! The service lasts about 75 minutes, then please stay for a cup of coffee or lemonade in the fellowship hall following the service. Guests are encouraged to fill out the communication card found in your bulletin, and drop it in the offering plate as it comes by. Please take a moment and visit the Welcome Center where you can receive additional information about our church. If you are a regular attendee of Imlay City CRC, we would like to provide you with a mail box. Please submit your request to Tammy in the church office 724-4315. Children s Bulletins and fun pages are available on clipboards in the lobby. Nursery care is offered during the morning service near the west entrance for infants and toddlers through age 3. Please honor the age limit. Immediately following worship, please meet your children at the nursery area. All children ages 3-8 are invited to join Children s Worship, which takes place during the church service. Wait for Pastor Dave to announce the Children s Message, after which the children will be dismissed from the sanctuary for Children s Worship. Out of respect for others, please silence your cell phone. Restrooms are located just past the lobby on the right hand side of the hallway. Wednesday Night Family Night This will take place the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of the month, October March. Dinner is served from 6:00-6:45 pm and classes are from 6:45-8:00 pm. Sunday School for grades PreK-12 meets immediately after the worship until 12:15 pm, during the school year (September May). Please refer to your building map for where the classes meet. WINTERFEST Cindy Hummel is looking for items for decoration. She is in need of anything winter related such as sleds, snow boots, hockey sticks, etc., Thank you. WINTERFEST TABLE HOSTESSES: Sign up on the Women's Ministries table or let Cindy Hummel know if you plan to set a table for Winterfest on January 23rd. THE BOOK DISCUSSION GROUP will meet on Jan 16, 6:30, at Kathy Brandt's house. Please read "Coffee Grounds and Potato Peeling Pancakes" by North Branch author Helen Bigelow. The book is a collection of first person remembrances of living through awful times, many of World War II. Won't you join us? QUILTS: Old and new, handmade blankets are needed for the Quilt Show on January 23rd. Please share these precious labors of love with the women at Winterfest. We would like them to be at church by Sunday, January 19th, or make arrangements to drop them off before Wednesday. We will take good care of them. Quilts can be taken home anytime after January 23.
