Church Music Ministry Sunday On Sunday, October 2 nd, we will recognize our women and men who have heard and responded to the Lord s invitation to be church musicians: that is, parish chanters and choir singers. As church musicians, these people represent the laity in the liturgical dialogue of our worship services. In glory to God, the Holy Trinity, they commit themselves to learning the hymns of our Orthodox faith, understanding the sequence of our liturgical worship, and actively offering their prayers in song to enhance the beauty of our worship. Better Late than Never Book Club Our next meeting is Tuesday, October 25 th to discuss The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton. The Book Club meets at 7:30 p.m. at the Starbucks on Rea Rd., in the Trader Joe s shopping center. The group is always welcoming new members. Premarital Ministry Journey of Marriage Couples getting married in the Metropolis of Atlanta are asked to attend an interactive and informative seminar, entitled The Journey of Marriage as part of their preparation. Becoming Orthodox During the three sessions, the priests answer questions that non-orthodox people have about the faith and help them understand what it means to enter the Orthodox faith through Holy Chrismation should they choose to do so. For those who plan to be chrismated and cannot make the class, appointments can be arranged to fit your schedule. This class is also appropriate for those already Orthodox who would like to learn or review the basics of the faith. Topics include an overview of church history, understanding Holy Tradition, the development of The Creed, the nature of the Holy Trinity and more. Young at Heart...... Military Ministry Honors Veteran s Day NOV. 13 Active service personnel and Veterans are asked to mark their calendars for the annual tribute on November 13 following the Divine Liturgy. The tribute will include a memorial service for our reposed members and a special coffee hour reception. We would like to feature a display of photos and/or memorabilia. Duties include: launch the A/V system; start and record webcasts; monitor the audio during the service; play CDs through the system; shut down the A/V system.
