Thames Valley Circuit Prayer Diary March May 2019 Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith, you will receive. Matthew 21 22 (NRSV) We invite you to join us in remembering in prayer a specific church each week. Sunday, 3 rd March Thames Valley Circuit We give thanks for the advent of Spring after Winter has passed. We pray for all those places that long for the gift of new life for their peoples. Sunday, 10 th March Burnham We give thanks for Open the Book and Wake-up Wednesday which have brought us in closer touch with the local community. We pray for those in our Church family who are suffering long-term illnesses, and for those who care for them.
Sunday, 17 th March Colnbrook & Poyle United Church We give thanks for our church in Colnbrook, and for its continued presence and witness in the community. We pray for the people of Colnbrook and Poyle, that more of them may want to join us and share our joy in worshipping our living Lord Jesus. Sunday, 24 th March Cookham Rise We give thanks for our monthly church lunches where guests enjoy hospitality and companionship, and for those who prepare the meals. We pray that developing links with our friends at Holy Trinity and St John the Baptist Parish Churches will lead to a greater sense of Christian unity in Cookham.
Sunday, 31 st March Eton Wick We pray for all those whose longing for the gifts of a child has not been fulfilled. We give thanks for all mothers who, by nurturing and example, have laid firm foundations for their children. Sunday, 7 th April Hampshire Avenue We give thanks for the Junior Church whose members enjoy being in Church. We pray for the ministerial team and everyone in their various Church and Circuit roles.
Sunday, 14 th April High Street, Maidenhead We give thanks for the faithfulness and enthusiasm of our Lay Pastor. We pray for him and his work with our young people. Sunday, 21 st April Ledgers Road God of Grace we thank you for this wonderful world that you have created, and for the gift of Life. We pray that you continue to give us love, faith, hope and unity.
Sunday, 28 th April Old Windsor We give thanks for all the Local Preachers in our circuit, who willingly travel to preach God s message to us. We pray that they will feel truly at home in our church and community. Sunday, 5 th May St Andrew s Slough We give thanks for the rich diversity of our membership and celebrate all that we do together. We pray that the fire of the Pentecost Spirit will energise and inspire us as we look forward to the arrival of a new presbyter and all the challenges ahead.
Sunday, 12 th May St Mark s Crescent Maidenhead We give thanks for our Circuit Staff and all their hard work. We pray for God s guidance, strength and enough rest for our staff, and for all who will be joining the team in the coming year. We pray also that God s hand will be on our members as we work through the final details of our 2020 Vision project; may it bring glory to Him and many blessings to our community. Sunday, 19 th May Windsor We give thanks on this Aldersgate Sunday for the occasion when John Wesley "at about a quarter to nine, felt his heart strangely warmed", and for all the on-going work and witness of the Methodist Church throughout the world. We pray for the work of Windsor Church with the young people through the Sunday School, Messy Church, Mums and Toddlers meetings.
Sunday, 26 th May Woodlands Park We give thanks for the joint Woodlands Community Project working with St Mary s Church and for the success of the Winter Wonderland event. We pray for those in our small church who have lost loved ones and for those suffering from poor health. Thought for the quarter Christ came when all things were growing old. He made them new.
