ORDER OF WORSHIP April 27, 2014 10:00 AM PRELUDE WELCOME Mary Luti *CALL TO WORSHIP Leader: The peace of the risen Christ be with you! People: And on the whole world, peace! The doors of life were shut. But God unlocked them! All hope was gone. But God reached into the grave! Our songs had died away. But God put new songs in our hearts! God is making a new morning, Like the first morning, when everything was new! Come then, assemble for glory! Come, let us sing God s praise! *HYMN NO. 38 Morning Has Broken Pilgrim Hymnal (Red) BUNESSAN *PRAYER OF PRAISE Leader: Let us pray. People: You make morning light for us, O God, and breathe warm life into wintry hearts. By your word of peace, you re-create us; your peace refreshes our hopes, like dew on the grass. We can never praise you enough for new days, new songs, new hopes, new chances! We can never praise you enough! Glory, honor, thanks and praise to you, now and forever! Amen. CALL TO CONFESSION Diane Anderson

PRAYER OF CONFESSION SILENT PRAYER CHILDREN S MOMENT: Signs of New Life Audra Teague Mackey *WORDS OF ASSURANCE After the words of assurance are spoken, students may leave for classes. If you would like to accompany your child, please come forward as the Response in Song begins. *RESPONSE IN SONG Now the Green Blade Rises (v. 1) ANTHEM Christ Hath A Garden Gerald Near Christ hath a garden walled around, a paradise of fruitful ground, chosen by love and fenced by grace from out the world s wide wilderness. Like trees of spice his servants stand, there planted by his mighty hand; by Eden s gracious streams, that flow to feed their beauty where they grow. Awake, O wind of heaven, and bear their sweetest perfume through the air: Stir up, O south, the boughs that bloom, til the beloved Master come: that he may come, and linger yet among the trees that he hath set; that he may evermore be seen to walk amid the springing green.

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION Leader: Let us pray. People: You fill the world with Easter light, O Spirit of the living God. Enlighten our hearts and minds also, so that we may find joy in your Word and have the courage to proclaim it in word and deed, all the days of our lives. In Christ s name we pray. Amen. SCRIPTURE John 20:19-22 SERMON Sealed With A Kiss (Page 883, pew Bible) Mary Luti MUSICAL MEDITATION *PASSING THE PEACE OF CHRIST *HYMN NO. 241 Joy Dawned Again on Easter Day New Century Hymnal (Black) PUER NOBIS NASCITUR PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
