Leadership Team Meeting Minutes January 18, 2018 Friendship Room Pocahontas Center Attendance: Pastor Kris, Sharon Hauswirth, Allan Frevert, Carol Hallman, Moira Hopkins, Elaine Cook, Dixie Gotttsch, Linda Ferguson, Donnie McLain, Joan Reinhart, Gary Zhorne and Judy Pursley Sharon H. opened the meeting with a devotion and a prayer. Minutes were read silently and Carol H. called our attention to the last page where it talks about the Articles of Incorporation. It should have included these sentences inserted after the word "together". Carol moved that we approve and adopt the Articles of Incorporation for Hope UMC of Pocahontas County. Elaine seconded the motion and it was approved. Carol moved to accept the correction. Elaine seconded and the motion passed. She also said that she checked and we can use our existing federal ID #. Allan gave the financial report. In Dec. we had $39,867.53 in total offerings. This was more money received than in the last three years prior. Total offerings for 2017 were $217,344. Total offerings for 2016 were $8,252 less. We had Budgeted Expenses of $13,552.53 and the Cash in Budget Account is $37,838.30. Our Apportionment costs for 2017 was $3,284.08 monthly. This breaks down into four categories: A-General Church Council $677.75, B- Conference Ministries $1,886.92, C-Conference Missions $670.08, D-District $49.33. From May - October we have only paid parts A and B of $2,564,67. We owe $720.08 for parts C and D. November and December we paid nothing towards Apportionment giving us $10,888.64 in Apportionment not paid in 2017. January 2018 Apportionment will be paid in entirety. Our Pastor Support/Salary would normally cost us $6615.00 monthly. By not having a full time pastor for the six months beginning July 1 and taking into consideration the money we paid to Pastors Elijah and Kris and Pulpit Supply we still saved $25,291.00. Allan made the motion to accept the finance report. Gary Z. seconded. Motion was approved.
