From the Pastor s Heart I would like to offer a great big congratulation to those of you who made it! Congratulations to all of you who read through the Bible together. What an accomplishment. Let s do it again. We will have another form for everyone to follow. I thought it was amazing how many times something we were reading fit into the sermon. If you didn t quite make it this time, give it another shot. We all know about Jesus in the manger, but I would challenge you to take a few moments with your families to discuss it. Bring it into your Christmas morning celebration and whenever you get together with your families. If it weren t for Jesus coming, there wouldn t be a Christmas. Before you begin your celebration, just take a moment to ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with the words He would have you to say. Challenge each member of your family to draw closer to him. I know that family is the most difficult to witness to, but Christmas is the open door to find out what they know. Just maybe, the Spirit will be working in their hearts (and yours) and something very special could happen. A View from the Driver s Seat Last month I wrote there were changes coming. Del and Jean Hansen have withdrawn from their various church duties to follow God s call with their Abundant Hope ministry. Their participation in this very vital mission is requiring more and more of their time and energy. They will be travelling a great deal to Israel and within this country. We will miss them as they travel. They will attend MCC when they can. They are not resigning their membership. God Bless them and their ministry. Keep them in your prayers. Wednesday Night Chapel Services will continue. I will be conducting the service for a time while Pastor and the Elders work out the kinks for Wednesday nights. The Library service is being coordinated by Sandy and Rochelle. The Missions Committee will resume after the annual meeting. The office needs a volunteer to replace Jean. If any of you would like to help in any of the ministries, please contact Rochelle or Pastor Kevin, Ike, Rich or me: the remaining elders. Don t forget the annual meeting on January 11, 2015. It will be very important for our church. God bless You, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year. Tom Sisters in Service will be electing new officers at the January 4 meeting. All women are invited to join together at 8:30am in the North Room. Meetings last from 30 to 45 minutes. You re welcome to bring your breakfast into the room to enjoy during the meeting. Lines from the Library Dear Readers and all who use the library; It is with great sadness that I am giving up the Library Ministry. I will miss you all very much. The Library has been a great blessing to me. The Library needs someone to care for it now. To see that books are put away, or put out for display. This is a call for someone who loves books, studying God s Word and helping others. Anyone interested in this ministry can see Rochelle in the Office. I would be happy to help in any way getting you acquainted with everything in the Library, and how it s been set up. The card catalog and how the books are cataloged. My phone number is 873-4414. Blessings to all of you, especially the one who takes on this ministry. Jean Hansen On Christmas Eve, we will have two candlelight services in the Chapel 7:00 and 9:00. As is our tradition, hot drinks and finger foods will be served between the services, from about 7:30 until 9:00pm. We will appreciate donations of cookies, cupcakes, brownies, or any other finger-food, and packets of hot cocoa or cider. You can bring your baked items to the church on the 23rd between 9:00 and 3:00, or on the 24th between 9:00 and Noon. Drink packets can be dropped off any time at the Office. We will also need a few people who are willing to stay in the Church Hall, greet those who come in, and keep the coffee and treats available. If you can help, please contact Carol Stephens (873-5233) or Rochelle in the Office. Salad, bread, and dessert are always served A Vegetarian Option is almost always available. If you want the Vegetarian Meal, ask for it at the front of the line.
