It lays down the basic structure of the government. It defines the powers of each organ It regulates the relationship between the different organs and between the government and the people. It spells out the rights and duties of the citizen The Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, also known as the 1973 Constitution is the supreme law of Pakistan. Drafted by the government of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, with additional
assistance from the country's opposition parties, it was approved by the Parliament on 10 April and ratified on 14 August 1973. REPORT OF ANY PLACE CONNECTED TO A PERSONALITY OR EVENT IN OUR HISTORY MAZAR E QUAID Mazar-e-Quaid also known as the Jinnah Mausoleum or the National Mausoleum, is the final resting place of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Designed in a 1960s modernist style, the mausoleum also contains the tomb of his sister, Māder-e Millat Fatima Jinnah, and that of Liaquat Ali Khan, the first Prime Minister of Pakistan. Moreover, Mrs Rana Liaquat Ali Khan, Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar and Noorul Ameen are also buried in the courtyard The mausoleum was completed in 1970, and is an iconic symbol of Karachi. The Mausoleum building was designed by famous architect Yahya Merchant. Official and military ceremonies take place here on special occasions CONTRIBUTIONS OF THREE NATIONAL PERSONALITIES 1. MUHAMMAD ALI JINNAH - Joined Muslim League in 1913 - Jinnah worked to bring the Congress and League together as the two organizations signed the Lucknow Pact. - He presented Fourteen Points to counter Nehru Report - He presided the 27 th annual session of Muslim League in which Lahore resolution was passed
- He opposed Congress Quit India Movement with First Divide and then Quit - He helped to found the newspaper Dawn in the early 1940s which helped to spread the League's message - In September 1944, Jinnah and Gandhi met in Bombay. Two weeks of talks followed between them, which resulted in no agreement as Jinnah insisted on Pakistan being conceded prior to the British departure and to come into being immediately - Few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world. Hardly anyone can be credited with creating a nation-state. Mohammad Ali Jinnah did all three 2. SIR SULTAN MUHAMMAD SHAH AGA KHAN III - Aga Khan led Simla Deputation to Lord Minto - First President of All India Muslim League 1908-1913 - He worked towards formation of Aligarh University - During 1930-33, he also attended the Round Table Conferences held in London for settling the future of the Muslims as delegate 3. ALLAMA MUHAMMAD IQBAL - In 1931 and 1932 he represented the Muslims of India in the Round Table Conferences held in England to discuss the issue of the political future of India. - In a 1930 lecture Iqbal suggested the creation of a separate homeland I would like to see the Punjab, North-West Frontier Provinces, Sind and Baluchistan into a single State
