Meeting 16 Programme : Navratri Mahotsav Date : 10th to 15th Oct Time : 9.00 PM Menu : Snacks Venue : Rotary Greater Bhavan Invitee : Rotarians, Anns and Annets 9 Thoughts That Will Change Your Life Life Lessons from Navdurga CIRCULAR 14 Awesome October 10th to 15th Oct : Navratri 23rd Oct : Sharad Poonam Celebration at Bhavan Daily routine brings monotony in our lives and therefore we are forced to seek for joy, celebration and excitement in life. And what else can be a better way to enjoy life than to be a part of our larger-than-life Indian Festivals? One of the most vibrant, most awaited, most energetic and most exciting festivals celebrated in our country is Navratri. Navratri literally meaning nine nights is celebrated in honour of the divine forms of goddess Durga also known as Navdurga (Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayini, Kalaratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri). This festival not only teaches us the supreme power that women possess (the way Goddess Durga saved the entire existence of the devas from Mahishasur) but also give us the following reasons to be inspired and learn from these 9 forms of Durga: 1. Goddess Shailputri is an epitome of power and love, she guides us in the process of rediscovering ourselves. For us entrepreneurs, it is absolutely essential to rediscover ourselves on a daily basis. Our self-of-today must at any given time be better and more evolved as compared to our self-of-yesterday. Therefore it is extremely essential that we identify our strengths, our improvement areas and work towards improving ourselves on a daily basis. 2. Goddess Brahamcharini is synonymous with Penance and guides us on going to any extent to achieve what we desire. As entrepreneurs, we need to be absolutely clear about our goal and remain a go-getter in achieving them, moving ahead with determination despite of any kind or number challenges we come across. 3. Goddess Chandraghanta is the embodiment of positive aura, is all-seeing and ever-vigilant who teaches us not only remain calm and unperturbed but also be extremely observant about everything. We need to be alert about the opportunities and challenges that the business world has to offer and accordingly plan our strategies, we need to be observant about the kind of company we stay in, the kind of ecosystem we work with, the kind of people we hire and most importantly our thoughts, words and deeds. 4. Goddess Kushmanda helps to eradicate the darkness from the life of her devotees and shows them the right path. It is our prime responsibility to have a clear vision, and to chart out a clear path to reach there. We ourselves cannot remain in darkness (obliviousness) and also need to guide our employees towards achieving our common objectives. 5. Goddess Skandamata blesses her devotees with grace, love and affection. On a daily basis we need to work with different kinds of people, our suppliers, customers and most importantly, employees. Each one of them comes with a different mindset, need and mood and to ensure maximum output from them, we need to be

extremely understanding, accepting and open to them. 6. Goddess Katyayani teaches us to take initiative to fight against all odds in life. It goes without saying that as the Captain of the Ship we are responsible for the lives of all the people associated with us, therefore we need to be passionate at any given time, come over low times and not remain bogged down for a long time. We need to take the initiative at all times. 7. Goddess Kaalratri destroys evil. It is very important that we too destroy all the evil emotions from our thoughts, words and deeds: Lust, Greed, Anger, Jealousy, Hatred, Ego and Guilt. These have to be replaced with Love, Sharing, Understanding, Admiration, Forgiveness, Sharing and Correction. 8. Goddess Mahagauri is known as the epitome of beauty. She characterizes humour and youthfulness which are of prime importance to us. We need to at any given time remain enthusiastic, cheerful, self-confident and full of sense of humor in order to keep the inner self and the ecosystem around us merry, excited and motivated. 9. Goddess Siddhidhatri blesses us with Siddhis (extraordinary capabilities). In today s fast-moving world it is imperative that we entrepreneurs work on our Success Pentagon (upgrade our Knowledge, enhance our Attitudes, sharpen our Skills, develop better Habits and plan effective Strategies) on a constant basis. Therefore all the manifestations of Goddess Durga guide us to develop ourselves and become a better and more effective individual in a holistic manner. May these 9 Goddesses bless you fulfill your dreams! Happy Navratri. Moments of Pride for RCRG Co- curricular activities alongside creativity are as important now in Education as Literacy and we should treat it with the same status. Role of Co-Curricular activities in a student s life cannot be put into words easily. But they definitely render some of the major benefits such as enhance all-round personality of students to strongly face the turbulent road of the future, cultivate improved fitness into students and inculcate a sense of sportsmanship, competitive spirit, leadership, meticulousness, cooperation and team spirit. The hidden motive behind all this is to develop self-confidence and to learn to trust the team. A co-curricular activity helps hone the talents of the young minds and gives them an opportunity to develop their specialized skills, improve academic performance and learn efficient time management. Ever the more, it opens up the doors to greater opportunities and fosters the sense of responsibility and accountability Henceforth, there is a huge plethora of options that a student can choose from these days. Adhering to the aforesaid benefits and in an attempt to achieve exposure to whole new horizon of activities and to gain better insight about their own specific interests The very talented Annets of RCRG managed to shine out in their chosen field of co-curricular activities. Their victory at their respective fronts or particular areas of interest demonstrated their immense liking for the selected activities and the hard work and dedication put forth in accelerating in the same. 1) Let s get a load of Annet Frey Vegda- compassionately propagating his experience of securing first position in swimming in various categories (back stroke) in the Council s national sports and games 2018 at the Regional Level held at SNK International School, Nadiad. Sports doesn't build our character it reveals it. Hello everyone, you might be knowing me as Frey Vegda. I have a huge passion behind swimming. I started swimming 3 years ago when I was of 13 and till now I have participated in 6 states and several district competitions. Today I would like to share one of my recent experiences... It all started 15th September 3:00 pm when all of us were ready for the ICSE north western Indian competition. The day ends after a 6 hours of a mind boggling journey. I will never forget all the music and fun we had done. But the next day it was time to get serious. We all were a bit tensed but I was a bit okay as experience says all. The first event was 50 meters backstroke. Backstroke is my second stroke and I have really good gliding power in it - that's why I give it a preference. I stood first in it and so did I in 100 meter backstroke. The competition was really hard but I managed it as it says practice makes a man perfect. I was a bit upset that as I was only able to secure a silver medal in 100 meter freestyle but to this I conquest that I have to practice a bit more. These victories (Gold medal in 100m Back stroke, Gold medal in 50m Back stroke, Gold in 50*4m Free Style and Silver medal in 100m free Style) provided me a chance to participate in the nationals for the first time. To tell the truth the experience was really great and wonderful. Now I just need your all's blessing for the nationals on 4th of October. 2) Sub- sequentially, Annet Sahil Lakhani won 3rd prize in Under 17 Singles Lawn Tennis Tournament at RMC echelon organized by Khel Mahakumbh Event. Hereby, one of the most versatile Annet of RCRG Sahil Lakhani is introducing Khel Mahakumbh the Mega Sporting Event for our readers and the importance of Sports in Student s Life. Khel Mahakumbh (Age Group for Khel Mahakumbh 2018 For Both Male & Female : Under 9, Under 11, Under 14, Under 17, Open Age

Group, Above 40 & Above 60) Under the guidance of visionary leadership of Shri Narendra Modi, Prime minister of India and the then chief minister of Gujarat took initiative of Khel Mahakumbh (KMK), mega sporting event in year 2010. Khel India was initiated nationwide by Central government with Khel Mahakumbh as the base. Khel Mahakumbh has witnessed a record participation of more than 30 lakhs every year. Outstanding performers of KMK get benefit of various Schemes run by Sports Authority of Gujarat; District Level Sports School (DLSS), Shaktidoot, Centre of Excellence (COE), Khele Gujarat Summer Coaching Camp, Inschool Program, Khel Pratibha Puraskar, Mahila Puraskar, etc. Excellence in sports brings pride to a nation and citizens of the nation help build a healthier and happier society. Sports unite the nation by bridging the social and cultural boundaries. There is no easier way other than sports to promote brotherhood and community bonding. It is a great leveler and unifier- when playing in a team, the caste, creed or community of teammates doesn t matter. Active participation in such a nationalized occasion has definitely forged diverse kinship and Community comradeship amongst new fangled apprentice of RCRG as well. Review of Installation/Donation of Sanitary Pad Vending machine at Kansagara Mahila College. Access to or easy availability of Menstrual Hygiene products is the basic human right. Manual contraption dispersing - contemporary menstrual hygiene products akin to sanitary pads available at educational institutes and other communal settings is blessing in disguise for the women of new era. This manual contrivance has various benefits including Cost effectiveness (sanitary pads available at cheaper rate as compared to market), easy availability and trouble free accessibility at time of exigency and uncomplicated managing and refilling procedure rendering it unproblematic for anyone to administer and supervise. Owing to the above mentioned remuneration of physically dispensing Apparatus for dissemination of Sanitary Pads at modest prize - A manual dispensing Sanitary Pad Vending machine was donated and installed by RCRG to Kansagara Mahila College. The entire project was materialized under the capable guidance and support -Ann Mayuri Tratia alongwith the head of Women Cell department of Kansagara Mahila College. Enormous praise to the never deterring fortitude and resourcefulness of Ann Mayuri Tratia continuously intended for betterment of the pubescent damsels and transpiring to authenticity- the notion of Happy Periods by availing reasonably priced sanitary pads for the Cohort of Kansagara mahila College.
