And what else can be a better way to enjoy life than to be a part of our larger-than-life Indian Festivals? One of the most vibrant, most awaited, most energetic and most exciting festivals celebrated in our country is Navratri. Navratri literally meaning nine nights is celebrated in honour of the divine forms of goddess Durga also known as Navdurga (Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayini, Kalaratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri). This festival not only teaches us the supreme power that women possess (the way Goddess Durga saved the entire existence of the devas from Mahishasur) but also give us the following reasons to be inspired and learn from these 9 forms of Durga: 1. Goddess Shailputri is an epitome of power and love, she guides us in the process of rediscovering ourselves. For us entrepreneurs, it is absolutely essential to rediscover ourselves on a daily basis. Our self-of-today must at any given time be better and more evolved as compared to our self-of-yesterday. Therefore it is extremely essential that we identify our strengths, our improvement areas and work towards improving ourselves on a daily basis. 2. Goddess Brahamcharini is synonymous with Penance and guides us on going to any extent to achieve what we desire. As entrepreneurs, we need to be absolutely clear about our goal and remain a go-getter in achieving them, moving ahead with determination despite of any kind or number challenges we come across. 3. Goddess Chandraghanta is the embodiment of positive aura, is all-seeing and ever-vigilant who teaches us not only remain calm and unperturbed but also be extremely observant about everything. We need to be alert about the opportunities and challenges that the business world has to offer and accordingly plan our strategies, we need to be observant about the kind of company we stay in, the kind of ecosystem we work with, the kind of people we hire and most importantly our thoughts, words and deeds. 4. Goddess Kushmanda helps to eradicate the darkness from the life of her devotees and shows them the right path. It is our prime responsibility to have a clear vision, and to chart out a clear path to reach there. We ourselves cannot remain in darkness (obliviousness) and also need to guide our employees towards achieving our common objectives. 5. Goddess Skandamata blesses her devotees with grace, love and affection. On a daily basis we need to work with different kinds of people, our suppliers, customers and most importantly, employees. Each one of them comes with a different mindset, need and mood and to ensure maximum output from them, we need to be
extremely understanding, accepting and open to them. 6. Goddess Katyayani teaches us to take initiative to fight against all odds in life. It goes without saying that as the Captain of the Ship we are responsible for the lives of all the people associated with us, therefore we need to be passionate at any given time, come over low times and not remain bogged down for a long time. We need to take the initiative at all times. 7. Goddess Kaalratri destroys evil. It is very important that we too destroy all the evil emotions from our thoughts, words and deeds: Lust, Greed, Anger, Jealousy, Hatred, Ego and Guilt. These have to be replaced with Love, Sharing, Understanding, Admiration, Forgiveness, Sharing and Correction. 8. Goddess Mahagauri is known as the epitome of beauty. She characterizes humour and youthfulness which are of prime importance to us. We need to at any given time remain enthusiastic, cheerful, self-confident and full of sense of humor in order to keep the inner self and the ecosystem around us merry, excited and motivated. 9. Goddess Siddhidhatri blesses us with Siddhis (extraordinary capabilities). In today s fast-moving world it is imperative that we entrepreneurs work on our Success Pentagon (upgrade our Knowledge, enhance our Attitudes, sharpen our Skills, develop better Habits and plan effective Strategies) on a constant basis. Therefore all the manifestations of Goddess Durga guide us to develop ourselves and become a better and more effective individual in a holistic manner. May these 9 Goddesses bless you fulfill your dreams! Happy Navratri. Sports doesn't build our character it reveals it. Hello everyone, you might be knowing me as Frey Vegda. I have a huge passion behind swimming. I started swimming 3 years ago when I was of 13 and till now I have participated in 6 states and several district competitions. Today I would like to share one of my recent experiences... It all started 15th September 3:00 pm when all of us were ready for the ICSE north western Indian competition. The day ends after a 6 hours of a mind boggling journey. I will never forget all the music and fun we had done. But the next day it was time to get serious. We all were a bit tensed but I was a bit okay as experience says all. The first event was 50 meters backstroke. Backstroke is my second stroke and I have really good gliding power in it - that's why I give it a preference. I stood first in it and so did I in 100 meter backstroke. The competition was really hard but I managed it as it says practice makes a man perfect. I was a bit upset that as I was only able to secure a silver medal in 100 meter freestyle but to this I conquest that I have to practice a bit more. These victories (Gold medal in 100m Back stroke, Gold medal in 50m Back stroke, Gold in 50*4m Free Style and Silver medal in 100m free Style) provided me a chance to participate in the nationals for the first time. To tell the truth the experience was really great and wonderful. Now I just need your all's blessing for the nationals on 4th of October. 2) Sub- sequentially, Annet Sahil Lakhani won 3rd prize in Under 17 Singles Lawn Tennis Tournament at RMC echelon organized by Khel Mahakumbh Event.
