Religious Education Living Nativity We are preparing for this year s Living Nativity and volunteers are needed. On Christmas Eve from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm and from 6:15 pm to 7:00 15 pm we ll be presenting the Nativity Story in both Spanish and English, plus singing Christmas Carols in front of the church. Besides volunteers we ll need animals and food for the animals. Those interested in helping please contact Erick Martinez at emartinez@sanfelipedeneri.org or Walter Lujan at wlujan@sanfelipedeneri.org. Religious Education Holiday Class Schedule With the Holidays quickly approaching our Religious Education class schedule will be as follows: Classes will be held on November 19 th and the 28 th, with no classes on November 21 st and 26 th. In December classes will be held on the 3 rd, 5 th, 10 th and 12 th, with no classes on the 17 th, 19 th, 24 th, 26 th, 30 th and January 2 nd. After the Christmas Holidays classes will begin again on January 7 th and 9 th. This gives everyone ample time to volunteer for the Living Nativity. Attendance is Important Parents, your children need to make it to class. The curriculum and text books we use, which are approved by the Archdiocese of Santa Fe and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, build from week to week and from year to year, no different than your children s weekday school programs. The difference is Religious Education is the Ministry of the Blessed Trinity and the Salvation of Souls. BLUE MASS St,. Jude Thaddeus will be hosting the 10th annual Blue Mass on Thursday, December 7 at 12pm. The Blue Mass is a blessing for all Police Officers, Sheriff Deputies, Firefighters, Emergency Personnel, and Corrections Officers in New Mexico. It is an opportunity to honor our fallen heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice. St. Jude Thaddeus 5712 Paradise Blvd. NW Albuquerque, NM 87114 Principal Celebrant: Archbishop John C. Wester CHRIST, KING OF ALL On this, the final Sunday of the liturgical year, we celebrate the solemnity of Christ the King. By concluding the year with this feast we are proclaiming our faith that Jesus Christ is the one and only king over all seasons, all peoples, and all of creation. At the end of time as we know it, Christ s work of restoring all things to unity and harmony with their Creator God will be completed. This Sunday, when we claim Christ as both our Shepherd and our King, we recognize our own calling to participate in Christ s saving work by caring for those whom Jesus calls the least ones (Matthew 25:45). LAS POSADAS AT SAN FELIPE DE NERI PARISH The celebration of Las Posadas has for many years been a special means of preparing us for the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ. This beautiful tradition handed down through the years is renewed each year in hopes that it will never be forgotten. I am once again soliciting your help in preparing the schedule for this year. I am so grateful to the many families who in the past have hosted the Posadas and the musicians that have faithfully played and traveled with us. We have many families in this parish and there is no better way of bringing meaning to the season than by hosting the Posadas at your home. I pray that more of you will offer your homes for Posadas this year. If you feel the calling to host the Posadas this season, please call Deacon Jose Lucero at 259-0254 or 345-7397. Posadas will be scheduled on a first come basis; therefore you need to call early so you will not be disappointed. Posadas start on the evening of December 16 and will end at the Christmas Eve Mass at the Mission of San Jose at Los Duranes. A complete list of the hosting homes will be printed in the bulletin on or before December 10. HOMEBOUND MINISTRY Do you have a family member who cannot participate in our Sunday worship because of illness, or maybe recovering from recent surgery, or hospitalization, and they are wanting to receive communion on a weekly basis? Please do not hesitate to call the office and speak with Deacon Tom and hopefully make the necessary arrangements to have those persons receive Jesus on a regular basis. We have in our parish a group of several men and woman who have generously responded to this need and have been commissioned to take communion to those in need. Also, if you are currently taking communion to the homebound and have not provided your name and the names of those you are assisting. Please contact Deacon Tom and provide him with names and addresses in order to enter into our homebound list. This is information is necessary so we can add them to our daily prayer for the sick. Thank You, Deacon Tom Homebound coordinator READINGS FOR THE WEEK Monday: Dn 1:1-6, 8-20; Dn 3:52-56; Lk 21:1-4 Tuesday: Dn 2:31-45; Dn 3:57-61; Lk 21:5-11 Wednesday: Dn 5:1-6, 13-14, 16-17, 23-28; Dn 3:62-67; Lk 21:12-19 Thursday: Rom 10:9-18; Ps 19:8-11; Mt 4:18-22 Friday: Dn 7:2-14; Dn 3:75-81; Lk 21:29-33 Saturday: Dn 7:15-27; Dn 3:82-87; Lk 21:34-36 Sunday: Is 63:16b-17, 19b; 64:2-7; Ps 80:2-3, 15-16, 18-19; 1 Cor 1:3-9; Mk 13:33-37 LECTURAS DE LA SEMANA Lunes: Dn 1:1-6, 8-20; Dn 3:52-56; Lc 21:1-4 Martes: Dn 2:31-45; Dn 3:57-61; Lc 21:5-11 Miércoles: Dn 5:1-6, 13-14, 16-17, 23-28; Dn 3:62-67; Lc 21:12-19 Jueves: Rom 10:9-18; Sal 19 (18):8-11; Mt 4:18-22 Viernes: Dn 7:2-14; Dn 3:75-81; Lc 21:29-33 Sábado: Dn 7:15-27; Dn 3:82-87; Lc 21:34-36 Domingo: Is 63:16b-17, 19b; 64:2-7; Sal 80 (79):2-3, 15-16, 18-19; 1 Cor 1:3-9; Mc 13:33-37 SAINTS AND SPECIAL OBSERVANCES Sunday: Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe Monday: Thirty-fourth or Last Week in Ordinary Time Thursday: St. Andrew Friday: First Friday Saturday: First Saturday; Blessed Virgin Mary
