WELCOME TO GOD S SERVICE ACK ST. LUKE`S PARISH UMOJA 8 th after Trinity (Jumapili ya Nane baada ya Utatu) 26 th July 2015 Vision: To be a Transforming, Holistic Anglican Church 2015 Theme: Endeavoring to touch the heart of God, (Matt 25:40). Kuazimia kumpendeza Mungu QUOTE OF THE WEEK Even though you do not believe me, believe the evidence of the miracles, that you may learn and understand that the Father is in Me, and I am in the Father PRAYER OF THE DAY Lord you reach out in love and mercy to those who cry out to you for help. Reach out O Lord to rescue us in our day when we call upon your name. May your mercy engulf us and your love enfolds us for the hour and glory of our name. Amen OMBI LA SIKU. Amin MESSAGE FROM VICAR S DESK HOW REAL IS GOD TO YOU We believe in God the creator who made the universe, as well as you and me. Man was created as a special being having the image of God to behold His Glory yet we doubt this God when faced with difficult situations or delay to unanswered prayers. The Israelites knew their God even during the time of slavery. This differentiated them from the Egyptians as we read in the Old Testament. In the New Testament we have the perfect example of Jesus i.e God becoming man to dwell amongst us so that we can believe. That is how God is real. Everything around us talks of who God really is to us and for that reason we need to exalt His Holy name and have no doubts like Peter. Peter realized that it was the Son of God in the water and desired to be like Him but fear made him loose focus. This shows us that fear affects our faith. The Lord is stretching out His hand to you as He did to Peter so that you do not sink into: 1. Self pity/gratification 2. Physical and spiritual sickness 3. Poverty 4. Drunkenness 5. Immorality 1

It is upon us to stretch also our hands towards him and never let go so that we can remain in Him and He in us to the Glory and honour of His name. Meditation: Where have you placed your faith and trust for you to experience God being real in your life? Ven John S. Anzaya INTRODUCTORY SENTENCE. Jesus immediately reached out His hand and caught him, saying to him, O man of little faith, why did you doubt? (Mathew 14:31) YOUTH SERVICE (MORNING PRAYER) LEADERS: Susan/Maxwel /Jennifer 1.
