Transcription:

Eighth Sunday after Pentecost July 15, 2018 10:00 A.M. Green Prelude Glory and Grace by Helen H. Lemmel, arr. Ruth Elaine Schram, March in G by John S. Dixon (You are invited to a time of quiet preparation for worship during the Prelude.) Ringing of the Bell Welcome and Informal Moments Introit *Call to Worship L: As we gather in this place, we come to worship God. P: We bring praises before the Holy One, our Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer. L: We hear words spoken of the Giver of Life and Conqueror of Death. P: We pray to the Merciful One, seeking help, hope, and healing. L: We sing praises to the Great One and seek to bring thanksgivings to the Divine through the offering of our whole lives. P: We gather in the presence of the Almighty, who was, is, and forever will be our God! Come, let us worship! *Opening Hymn Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty! No. 10 Unison Prayer of Confession and Lord s Prayer Dear God, we seek to say yes to your ways of love and light. Still, we fall short. When our praises are hollow, forgive us, and help us to praise you in every thought, word, and deed. When our hearts say no to your life-giving call, pardon us, and lead us into a yes. In everything, renew and refresh us as we strive to follow you. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray saying, Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day

our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Words of Assurance Scripture Exodus 20:7 John Ross, reader Matthew 5:33-37 Time for Children (The children remain in worship with their families. Church School will resume in September.) *Hymn O for a Thousand Tongues to Sing No. 39 Joys and Concerns Pastoral Prayer and Silent Prayer Prayer Response Invitation to Offering Offertory Ave Maria by Jacob Arcadelt *Doxology No. 44 Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen (As our morning offerings are brought forward, so too are the non-perishable food offerings from the basket in the Narthex for St. Philip's Food Pantry.) *Unison Prayer of Dedication Good and Gracious God, bless the gifts that we place before you. Transform them into life-giving ministries which bring glory to your name. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
