The Diocese, just this week, announced the appointment changes throughout our Diocese. If you have read the announcement, you probably noticed that it read that Fr. Akila is appointed pastor of St. James the Apostle Parish in Clarksburg, St. Ann Parish in Shinnston, and Sacred Heart Mission in Salem with continued residence at the parish rectory in Clarksburg, effective June 20, 2018. Even though the notice does not state that St. Anns will have an Associate Pastor with residence at St. Ann s, I was told from the Diocese that St. Ann s will have an Associate Pastor from Sri Lanka, he is one of six priests coming from the Third Order Regular of St. Francis in Sr Lanka. The priest that comes to St. Ann s will maintain a residence at St. Anns. He should be coming to the diocese during the first part of June, and his formal date to begin at St. Ann s is June 20, 2018. Congratulations to Dominic Fazalare, Preston Klimek, Peyton Romeo, Dominick Spadafore, and Colton Wright who received their Lord for the very first time at the 10:00am Mass this Sunday. May the eternal Christ be always with them and guide them as they grow in the presence of God. Everyone is welcome to come over to the social hall for a reception after the Crowning of Mary to congratulate these young people and share the joy with them. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard during the Spaghetti Dinner this past Sunday. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. The month of May is a special time for us Catholics to pay homage to our Blessed Mother Mary. The crowning of Mary takes place today after the children receive their first Holy Communion. In the Western Church, the rosary is the preeminent form of prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and May is a very good month to begin praying the rosary daily.
