On earth we re like travelers staying at a hotel. When you re away, you re always thinking of going home. John Vianney

The Diocese, just this week, announced the appointment changes throughout our Diocese. If you have read the announcement, you probably noticed that it read that Fr. Akila is appointed pastor of St. James the Apostle Parish in Clarksburg, St. Ann Parish in Shinnston, and Sacred Heart Mission in Salem with continued residence at the parish rectory in Clarksburg, effective June 20, 2018. Even though the notice does not state that St. Anns will have an Associate Pastor with residence at St. Ann s, I was told from the Diocese that St. Ann s will have an Associate Pastor from Sri Lanka, he is one of six priests coming from the Third Order Regular of St. Francis in Sr Lanka. The priest that comes to St. Ann s will maintain a residence at St. Anns. He should be coming to the diocese during the first part of June, and his formal date to begin at St. Ann s is June 20, 2018. Congratulations to Dominic Fazalare, Preston Klimek, Peyton Romeo, Dominick Spadafore, and Colton Wright who received their Lord for the very first time at the 10:00am Mass this Sunday. May the eternal Christ be always with them and guide them as they grow in the presence of God. Everyone is welcome to come over to the social hall for a reception after the Crowning of Mary to congratulate these young people and share the joy with them. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard during the Spaghetti Dinner this past Sunday. Your hard work is greatly appreciated. The Knights of Columbus Council 872, Clarksburg is proud to be hosting this year s West Virginia State Knights of Columbus Convention. All Knights in the area are invited to attend the Convention Mass which will be held at Immaculate Conception Parish on Saturday, May 19 th, 2018 at 4:30pm. There will be a recitation of the Rosary at 4:00pm prior to the Mass. We hope you will join us. The Men s Group (Holy Name Society) has planned a Black Bear Baseball Outing in Morgantown for July 8, 2018. This is designated a Sunday Funday The Game is scheduled to start at 4:05pm and the tickets are $11.50 each. The seats are behind the home plate. The Men will be selling 50 tickets, and it will be first come, first served. If you are interested, please call John Marchio at 304-476-6573. Day and night, Jesus dwells in the Blessed Sacrament because of His infinite love for you! Behold I will be with you always even to the end of the world. Because I have loved you with an everlasting love, and constant is My affection for you. (Mt. 28:20; Jer 31:3) There are still seven (7) hours open in the chapel. Please consider taking an hour if you are not already doing so. CURRENT OPEN HOURS THAT ARE AVAILABLE IN THE CHAPEL: Tuesday 2:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday 1:00pm to 2:00pm Thursday 8:00am to 9:00am Saturday 2:00pm to 3:00pm Thursday 9:00am to 10:00am Saturday 4:00pm to 5:00pm Saturday 5:00pm to 6:00pm TO SIGN UP FOR AN HOUR, PLEASE CALL MARY K. AT 304-592-2733 OR 304-203-4429 OR CALL MARY ANN AT 304-669-3504. WE ESPECIALLY NEED HELP ON SATURDAYS RIGHT NOW AS YOU CAN SEE. The month of May is a special time for us Catholics to pay homage to our Blessed Mother Mary. The crowning of Mary takes place today after the children receive their first Holy Communion. In the Western Church, the rosary is the preeminent form of prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and May is a very good month to begin praying the rosary daily. On May 27, 2018, Representatives will set up a display of Olive Wood Carvings from the Holy Lands for you to purchase if you wish. Hand carved olive wood is an art that has been practiced for centuries by Christian artisans in the Bethlehem area. All of the carvings are carved from olive wood grown in the Holy Land. The display will be set up for parishioners to see and purchase (if you wish) after all of the Masses on May 26 th, and May 27 th.

Please be sure and let the office or Fr. Pat know if you are in the hospital or ill at home and would like for Fr. Pat to come and visit you. Under the current privacy laws, information is not available to us regarding our parishioners who are in the hospital. The only way that Fr. Pat will know is if you call us.
