Each individual in our faith community was asked to make a commitment of financial support of diocesan services & ministries. If you have not made your commitment or donation, please do so this week. Our seminarians, youth, college students, prison inmates (and more) need your help. Each donation is valuable! Please show your support of diocesan ministries! SHCCW Announcements The SHCCW will need canned & nonperishable items to prepare Christmas baskets for the needy. If you wish to help, please bring the items on the weekend of Thanksgiving (11/26 & 11/27). The Advent Angel Tree will also be up on the above weekend. We ask that donations be returned by the weekend of 12/10 & 12/11 for giving to our Christmas charities. Invitation for All Parish Women All women of the parish are invited by the SHCCW to a Christmas party at the Brass Lantern. It will be on Wednesday, Dec. 7th at 7 pm! The dinner is a Dutch treat. Choir Practice There will be Christmas choir practice on Sunday, November 20th at 2 pm. Come out & help us to make a joyful noise to the Lord! This weekend, we hope to introduce our new Sanctus, memorial acclamation, Great Amen, and Lamb of God in preparation for the first Sunday of Advent! Pie Pickup For those who have ordered pies from the Home & School Association: Remember to pick up those delicious pies this weekend (November 19th & 20th) after you attend Mass! Our Nursery Today (11/20) the nursery staff is Chris & Crissinda Johns. On November 27th the staff will be Korey & Kristy Whitehead. Our nursery is for the comfort & convenience of parents. Please check it out! Advent Silent Retreat Mercy Convent, Nashville The retreat will begin at the 5 pm evening meal on November 28th and close with supper on the 29th. Parish & School Christmas Float The annual Lawrenceburg Christmas parade will be held on Saturday, December 3rd. The chairperson this year is Mrs. Ange Koeppen. Workers are needed to help assemble the float. The first work session will be Tuesday, 11/29 from 6:30 pm until 8. Quarterly Catholic Charismatic Mass The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (Diocese of Nashville) invites you to participate in Mass on Sunday, November 20th at 6 pm. St. Ignatius of Antioch Church will host this Mass, which will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Baltrus. Assisting will be Deacons Doug Shafer and Simeon Panagatos. Right to Life Pro-Life Poem & Essay Contest The Lawrence County Chapter is holding its annual contest which is open to students in the 7th through 12th grades. Entrants should write on the theme Unite on the principles to overturn Roe vs. Wade and protect mothers and preborn children. No exception! No compromise! Essays should be no longer than 1000 words; poems should be 30 lines or less. You may enter a poem, an essay, or both. They should be received no later than Tuesday, November 29th and should be mailed to: Lawrence County Right to Life, PO Box 144, Loretto, TN 388469. First prize in the 7th & 8th grade division is $30; second prize $20. A $30 prize will be awarded for both 1st & 2nd place winners in the high school division.
