St. Aloysius Gonzaga Many times, people ask whom the statues in our Church represent. If you look to the left of the Blessed Virgin Mary, you will see the statue of St. Aloysius Gonzaga. ( March 9, 1568 June 21, 1591)). He was an Italian Jesuit seminarian and student at the Roman College. He died in Rome, at the service of persons infected by the plague. In nursing them, he too became ill and never achieved his goal of being ordained. Beatified in 1605, he was canonized in 1726. June 21st is his memorial day.
