Connections APRIL 2018 Wishing you a joyous and blessed Easter season Spruce up the church grounds for spring! Saturday, April 7th 8 am until 12 Noon Bring rakes and wheelbarrows All are welcome

From the Pastor s Pen Almighty God, you give us the joy of celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord. Give us also the joys of life in your service, and bring us at last to the full joy of life eternal; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. Dear Friends: Easter is here and I am excited. Maundy Thursday, the Family Easter Fair on Saturday, and Easter services make for a busy week, but how wonderful it is to celebrate the resurrec on of Jesus and his victory over sin and death. I believe our Lenten disciplines in everyday ac vi es help us to appreciate what God has done in being in rela onship with each of us. We may tell ourselves, "I'm not that bad," but how many mes have we said unkind things about a person at work or while driving? What about those li le indiscre ons concerning our diet or exercise regiment? Have we put off our Bible study prepara ons or me in prayer? These are just a few examples of our human condi on and exactly why Jesus came to save us from ourselves. It's the li le things, and big things as well, but in all of it, God loves us and makes a way. During Lent and especially for our Easter services, many of our congrega- on have been very busy in prepara on of Easter. I want to thank our choir, adult and youth bell ensembles and praise band Redeemed for your leadership in our worship services. Your dedica on and musical contribu ons have made our worship so much be er. The leadership of Todd Oberlin, Jeremy Melton and Traci Morlock has ventured into new realms of worship and sound. Our worship hosts and Cafe crews have regularly offered hospitality and leadership for our visitors and members. Thank you for your good work. Our finance secretary Angie Shelton, weekly counters, nursery workers and custodians serve quietly behind the scenes. Thank you. You are wonderful servants of Christ who are vital to our congrega on. Lastly, thank you to Donna Norman who creates the bulle n, makes connec ons seamlessly happen, and keeps us up to date and well informed. Thank you. Wentzville United Methodist Church is a congrega on that lives for God, loves their neighbor and is growing in Christ. Keep going and God bless us every one. Connections is published each month. Our church vision is to Live for God, Love our neighbor, and Grow in Christ. Visit us at 725 Wall Street, Wentzville. Growing In Christ ONE Moving Toward Life-Changing Community We have completed the Lenten portion of ONE! Study groups were engaged for four weeks of lively discussion and sharing, and are now poised to move forward to even greater growth and con nuity. So what was it all about? Here are some focus take-aways. 1. As a group we are going to all focus on making sure we meet and greet people who are new to the church. 2. Our group enjoyed the chance to study ONE, and we ve learned a lot about each other. 3. Our group will be incorpora ng aspects of ONE as we move forward with other studies. 4. Our group is going to Get Up and Get Out. We ve iden fied ministries which speak to our hearts and why we want to commit to it week a er week. We are seeking ways to involve the group with these ministries beyond the walls of the church.
