Church Cemetery Quadrant Map: Clifton City General Location: East northeast of Clifton City Congressional Township: Township 46-N; Range 19-W Section: Northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of section 9 Longitude & Latitude: 38 46 33 : 93 00 13 Directions: About 2 miles northeast of Clifton City. From New Lebanon Missouri, take Route A north about ¾ mile then left (west) on a gravel road and follow this for 3 ½ miles to where it turns south. Here on the right side of the road is the old church building and the cemetery adjoining the church grounds. Atlas Survey: 1877 land atlas a cemetery symbol at this location on John A. Streit land. 1915 land atlas no cemetery symbol here on Whitlow land 1978 plat book no cemetery symbol here on Mrs. Frank Streit land 1991 plat book no cemetery symbol on Mary Streit land History: This is a very old cemetery. The land, for the church, school, parsonage, and cemetery sites was given by the family of Rev. William D. Sims, the grandfather of Mr. Eugene Sims of New Lebanon, Missouri. Recorded by Mr. and Mrs. Roy Mitzel and assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Sims of New Lebanon, Missouri. Later entries provided by Justin Watkins When this cemetery was first recorded in about 1980, there were the cemetery, an old Methodist Episcopal Church building and the old school building all standing. There is a considerable plot of land here. There had been land reserved for a Lodge Building also, but it was never built. The old school building is now gone.
