God has now used our men, along with the Adopt-a-Well program, to restore over 200 wells to deliver life-saving water to thousands of desperate people. Please plan to join us on Sunday evening, March 4th from 6:00-7:00pm as we celebrate the Lord s work through our church. After we finish sharing about the trips, we will have some desserts.
THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 2 CELEBRATE RECOVERY Celebrate Recovery is a support ministry for anyone who has hurts, habits and hang-ups and would like instruction, direction, fellowship and encouragement to overcome them through the power of Christ. Thursday, March 1st 11:30am First Thursdays is for men & women, couples & singles of AARP age. If you have never joined us before, plan to come in March. Pastor Brad will be sharing. We will enjoy ham and beans and cornbread or potato soup. We invite you to enjoy this fellowship time together. Celebrate Recovery meets every Thursday evening: 6:30-8:30 pm in the worship area with a fellowship time beginning at 6:00 pm. Child care is provided. Yet God has not forgotten them. We will help them learn about Christ while doing a building project and running a small kids day camp. Cost: $400 a person plus transportation and lodging during travel to and from Wyoming. The cost covers food, lodging, building supplies and food supplies for the kids camp. THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 4 Community Breakfast for Lighthouse Water Project in Haiti My Father s House Community Services Special Need Request Saturday, March 3rd 7:00-10:00am Lighthouse Church (1402 E 303rd St) Freewill donation. All proceeds will go toward our Haiti well repair program. Menu will include: scrambled eggs, link sausage, hash browns, biscuits/gravy, cinnamon roll, coffee and orange juice. My Father s House is a transitional housing shelter in Paola, Kansas that serves women and families who are homeless in Miami & Linn Counties. In 2017, MFH served 21 families and 18 individual women for a total of 77 residents. In December, their sprinkler system became damaged beyond repair and was deactivated. They are currently on 24/7 Fire Watch to ensure the safety of their residents until they can raise approximately $40,000 to get a new system installed. Anchor Watch at Lighthouse Saturday, April 14 th 5:00 8:00pm Anchor Watch is the official name we have given to our new Respite Care for families who have a loved one with special needs. On Saturday evening, April 14th, Lighthouse Church will become a beacon of hope for these families in our church and community. The parents and/or caregivers of loved ones with special needs (Buddies) will have an opportunity to bring both their loved one and his/her siblings to our church from 5:00 8:00pm. We will team up a volunteer with each Buddy, feed all of them pizza for dinner (yes, siblings too), have a brief devotion/prayer, and then encourage them to explore several types of rooms in the building (including a Quiet Room for people who are sensitive to sight and sound). There is no cost for this evening; nursery will be provided for children up to three years old, ages four and up will join in the activities. Since this is the first time we have done Anchor Watch, we will be limited to the first 20 Buddies who sign up. You may sign up your Buddy (and siblings) at the Welcome Table on Sunday mornings.
