United Methodist Church of Antioch Nineteenth Sunday in Kingdomtide September 30, 2018 8:00 & 10:30 am GATHERING The mission of the United Methodist Church of Antioch is to grow in faith; to worship God following the teachings of Jesus Christ, and to be instruments of God s love through the Holy Spirit as we reach out to our community and the world. PRELUDE 10:30am Valerie Lapke, Cello ANNOUNCEMENTS/MISSION STATEMENT *SONG OF CELEBRATION # 92 For the Beauty of the Earth *WE ARE WELCOMED TO WORSHIP L: Grace and peace to you this day from God, our heavenly Parent, and the Lord Jesus Christ. P: Blessed be God who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing. L: Before the world was made, God chose us in Christ to be holy and blameless before the Lord in love. P: According to God s great pleasure, we are adopted as God s children, redeemed according to God s good pleasure. L: In Christ we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. P: For this reason we bow before our Creator. To him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. *OPENING PRAYER Wondrous God, our hearts are full of praise for all of the glorious things you have given to us. When we look upon your creation, we realize that it reflects your glory. When we experience the gift of a parent s love, we are reminded of your tender love for us. When we worship in the great congregation of all who name you as Lord, we are blessed to be counted among your children. Hear our prayer of joy and thanksgiving this day, and sustain in us grateful hearts, that we might praise you eternally. Through Christ, our Lord. Amen. CHILDRENS TIME/ BLESSING OF OUR MINISTRY (Parents Day Out/Under the Son) HYMN #2065 More Precious than Silver MORNING PRAYERS Silent Prayer

Pastoral Prayer The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. OFFERTORY Tell the Children Nicole Heyl-Horst *DOXOLOGY *PRAYER OF DEDICATION Giver of all gifts, you open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. You are just in all your ways and kind in all your doings. Teach us to give freely as you have given. Teach us to live thankfully in ministry to others.
