McGivney award for star council. If you know any Catholic men that are eighteen or older, please try to convince them to join the Knights of Columbus. There is a first degree celebration each month on the third Thursday at Our Lady of the Lakes, starting at 7:00 PM. Our St. Patrick s Party was a success this year with over 125 individuals in attendance. The food was delicious, the band was outstanding, the drinks were cold, and everyone had a good time. We still don t have all the figures as to how much we made, but all profits go to the youth ministry group. Many thanks to all that helped with the celebration this year. On March 26, we had a Corporate Communion at the 9:00 AM Mass. All members and their family members were invited and processed to reserve seating at the front of the church. On March 31 st the Knights of Columbus hosted and Celebrated the Station of the Cross, starting at 7:00 PM. We had 50-60 individuals in attendance. April is here and it brings an annual rejuvenation of life and a welcome end to the harsh cold winter weather. Hopefully that small hint of sunshine and warmer temperatures will encourage all of us to enjoy the freshness and venture outside to appreciate the flowers and leaves that are starting to bust with new live. There is so much to accomplish now that spring has arrived. First, we have our annual Tootsie
Roll Drive on April 7 th and 8 th. We need your help in this endeavor. Then we will be having our annual clean-up at St Daniel, usually the first weekend after Easter. More information to follow at our membership meeting. Second Notice for Dues: Brother Knights our second notice for dues assessment was sent out via-e-mail (if you have a registered e-mail address on file) or via regular US Mail. If you have not received your dues assessment for 2017, please contact Fred Devendorf at (248)-620-2845) or e-mail fdev43@aol.com. If you, or a Brother Knight you know; need assistance paying your dues, please contact Fred Devendorf, or Geoff Wright at (248) 620-4910. Helping to Set the Table: Again this year Our Food Drive echoes the cry of some of our brother and sisters, who in many parts of Oakland County do not have enough to eat each day. Our goal is 3000 lbs of food for Matchan Nutrition Center in Pontiac, and Light House in Clarkston MI. Currently we have collected 1369 lbs of food and we also have raised $590 dollars. Although our goal is in sight, we don t have to stop there. For every 1000 lbs of food collected, Supreme will give our council $100 dollars and $100 for every $500 collected up to a max of $500 dollars. Please bring nonperishable food to our council meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. Outside Guard Article: As your Outside Guard I make sure that everyone has a current membership card. Those that don t have a current membership card have to pay their dues before entering the meeting. In addition, I now put the agenda sheets on a table before you enter the room; this eliminates crowding at the door. Winners of the twelve month raffle for March. Mike Donaldson $100.00 Chris Young $60.00 Larry Marino $40.00
