THERE IN NONE LIKE HIM? Wednesday Night Message July 18, 2007 Deu 33:26 There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky. Deu 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. 1Sa 2:1 And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD: my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation. 1Sa 2:2 There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God. 2Sa 7:22 Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears. Dan 3:28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. Dan 3:29 Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort. Deu 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? Deu 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. THE GREAT I AM 1
1. The Word I AM Means: I AM That I AM : Literally means The self Existent one He that is who He is, therefore the eternal I AM, The word (Havah and Jahwe) that helps form the word Jehovah, which means The Self-Existent One, Who unveils Himself. THERE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A CHALENGE TO OVERTHROUGH GODS PEOPLE ON THE EARTH Deu 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? Deu 32:31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. (Dan 3:15) but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Deu 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. Deu 32:40 For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. 1Ki 18:23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: 1Ki 18:24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken. WHY DID GOD SEND TEN PLAGUES TO EGYPT? EBYPT HAD TEN GODS. AND GOD SAID TO MOSES SAID I AM GOING TO TAKE ON EGYPT ONE GOD AT A TIME. xx. There First God: The cobra snake, it was on the Pharaoh s crown, it was on Pharaoh s Staff it was on the wall pictures. Moses walks in and says, Lets handle the cobra God right now. When Janises and Jambre saw Moses through down his rod and it became a serpent. They said our 2
cobra is more powerful then your King s Snake. But Moses snake ate up all the other snakes. 1. God Number One: did you know why Moses turned the Nile River into Blood? The Egyptians worshipped the God of Hapi, they not only believed that the Nile River as the source of life, but it watered all their crops. If fed all their livestock, and they worshipped it. Moses took that same rod that the kingsnake came out of and smote the Nile River and blood and the stink went all through Egypt. 2. One Down and Nine to Go: The Egyptians worshipped an ugly frogheaded goddess. It was an offense to kill the sacred frog. But when they found them in their beds, houses, food and under good they probably felt like killing them. Exo 8:9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only? Exo 8:10 And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God. Exo 8:14 And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank. 3. The Plague of Lice. The Egyptians worshipped the earth god Geb. But the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. This was sacred to Geb they now despise. Pharaoh did not ask that this plague be taken away and the Egyptian Scorers could not reproduce this pestilence. They seem to have to acknowledge that the One who brought this plague was a supreme over the gods of Egypt.( Ex. 8:16-20). Exo 8:18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. Exo 8:19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. 3
4. The Plague of Flies: It is thought by some that the swarm of flies were actually masses of the sacred beetle. And Khepara was the Beetle God. This sacred beetle was found in Egyptian tombs and speaks of eternal life to the Egyptians. 5. The Plague of Disease on the Cattle: Murrain was a disease that affected cattle. The Egyptians worshipped the Black bull Apis. All the cattle of the Egyptians died. You could say the Egyptians worship a sick cow. Exo 9:4 And the LORD shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt: and there shall nothing die of all that is the children's of Israel. Exo 9:5 And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land. Exo 9:6 And the LORD did that thing on the morrow, and all the cattle of Egypt died: but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one. 6. The Plague of Boils: (Ex (:8-17) The Priest of all the religions of Egypt had to be spotless with no mark or blemish on their bodies in order to serve in the temples. This was a plague on all the religions of Egypt because none of the Priests could serve anywhere. 7. The Plague of Hail: (Ex. 9:18-35) God demonstrated His power with the plague of hail over the sky goddess who is powerless in her own domain. Exo 9:16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth. 8. The Plague of Locus: (Exodus 10:1-20 This plague was against the inset Gods. The plague of locusts meant the crops were cursed. 9. The Plague of Darkness: They worshiped the Sun God Ra. The disc is the most familiar symbol found in Egypt ruins. The plague of darkness shows the utter helplessness of Ra the Sun God. 4
10. The Death of the Firstborn: (Ex. 11:12-36) According to the Egyptians, the firstborn belonged to the gods of Egypt. God took what was set aside for the gods of Egypt. God was teaching the Egyptians who he was. JESUS HAS ALL POWER Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. 1. Same question was asked the apostles as was asked by the religious leaders in the days of old by Pharaoh. Act 4:5 And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers, and elders, and scribes, Act 4:6 And Annas the high priest, and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest, were gathered together at Jerusalem. Act 4:7 And when they had set them in the midst, they asked, By what power, or by what name, have ye done this? Act 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, Act 4:9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Act 4:10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. Act 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. 5
