SIXTH SUNDAY OF EASTER 2012 ST. THERESA FEAST The plans are underway for our 16 th Annual Summer Festival. This year it will be held from July 25 th to the 29 th. So tell your family and friends to save the date and make plans for a fun filled celebration. Some of your fellow parishioners are working hard to make sure everything is organized just right. They have already started to make some additions and changes that will make this year s edition the best one ever. If you would like to get involved with the planning please feel free to stop by any of the feast committee meetings that will be posted in future editions of this bulletin. The success of our feast requires the need of hundreds of parishioners working together for the good of our parish during these five days. Please consider signing up to volunteer. THIS YEARS THEME Each year since the inception of the feast we have had a catchphrase that is the underlying theme of that years feast. The catchphrase is seen on the t-shirts of the volunteers and is the theme around which the religious observances are based. In recognition of his elevation to Cardinal our theme this year will be We Join Cardinal Dolan in Celebrating the Year of The New Evangelization. RAFFLE In conjunction with the feast, we will hold our Grand Raffle. Each family will be receiving two raffle tickets in the mail within the next few days. The grand prize will be a 2012 Mercedes Benz C300 or $30,000. The 2 nd prize will be $1,000 and the 3 rd prize will be $500. There will only be 1000 tickets sold at a cost of $100 each. Once again we ask for your help. This raffle is very important to the financial state of our parish. If you cannot buy them yourself please make every effort to network them among friends, relatives or co-workers. If your ticket stubs are in before the end of June you qualify for the early-bird drawing. The winner of the early-bird will receive $300 and 3 additional free tickets for the Grand Raffle. Each weekend parishioners will be in the back of Church to accept your raffle tickets, answer any questions, or give you any additional tickets that you may need. ST. THERESA EDUCATION PROGRAM 2012-2013 Registration for NEW STUDENTS in Grades 1-6 will take place on Wednesday, May 23 in the religious education office in the rectory. Registration hours are from 11:00AM-4:00PM and 7:00PM- 8:00PM. Please call Mrs. McCarrick at 718-792-8434 if you would like additional information regarding the program. A copy of your child s baptismal certificate and other sacrament certificates (if your child is in Gr.3 and up) are needed at the time of registration along with the annual fee of $90 (1 child), $130 (2 children), $170 (3 children) or $185 (4 children). For those families whose children are presently attending the religious education program please remember that the reregistration forms that were sent home are due on or before MAY 31. HOLY NAME SOCIETY NEWS The Holy Name Society is sponsoring a trip to Aqueduct Casino on Tuesday, June 12, 2012. The bus will leave from St. Theresa Church at 10:00AM SHARP at a cost of $25.00. ASCENSION THURSDAY This Thursday, May 17 is Ascension Thursday it is a Holy Day of Obligation. There will be a vigil Mass on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:30PM and on Thursday the Mass schedule is as follows 8:00, 9:00 and 10:30AM.
