August 4 th -7 th, 2017 Relax. Reflect. Recharge. Recognize.

January 2017 Congratulations! 18 years in the books. 12 years of education under your belt. Countless memories, challenges, joys, moments, events, achievements, disappointments, friendships, feuds, Chipotle runs, Friday night football games, 3 million Instagram likes, lots of shoes, one quirky family and zero Cleveland Browns playoff appearances to reflect back upon. What does it all mean? Why does it all matter? Where do we go from this point? What does Jesus think about the next era of your life? This summer after the graduation parties are over and the 4 th of July is past, we are planning a trip into the woods. An excursion. The woods. The campfire. You. I am inviting you to join us for our first ever Senior Excursion. Join this small group of graduating seniors and adults for a weekend of camping, hiking, canoeing and reflecting in the Allegheny National Forest. Our hope is that this excursion can accomplish four things: RELAX: You have been doing a lot these past 18 years. This weekend is an opportunity to forget all of the worries, the responsibilities, the drama, the decisions and simply.relax. REFLECT: 18 years is a long time. There s a lot in there that is good, bad, heartwarming, tough, thrilling and memorable. We are going to look back and discuss what those 18 years have meant to us, what they mean to us and what they will always be to us. RECHARGE: You are standing at the starting line of the most incredible journey you will ever go on besides the one you just completed. The woods are experts at filling our hearts, our souls and our minds with the mojo and the fuel to begin this new chapter. RECOGNIZE: Each of us have duties and mandates as Christians to love, to serve, to be a steward and to discover what gifts God has placed in us. We are going to get real about recognizing all of this and what it requires of us. Our hope is that you will join us for this new thing, this weekend to wrestle with God s word, to listen for God s still speaking voice in the wilderness, to laugh, to lose ourselves in the calming crackle of the campfire and to rediscover our faith in an entirely new way. In this packet you will find everything you need to know to be a part of this summer s Senior Excursion. The cost is just $100 per person. Space is limited and sign-ups end May 1 st. We look forward to having you join us! Happy Camping! Nate Taylor Avon Lake U.C.C.
