Our community saved Lives this Lent, and CRS Rice Bowl wants to say thank you! Don t forget to turn in your CRS Rice Bowl to any of our three parish locations. A Message from Fr. José... Congratulations to our children who will be making their First Communion! For these young people, this is the beginning of their following in the footsteps of Jesus, in communion with him: the beginning of a friendship that is to last a lifetime. It strengthens their life with Him and starts them on the path with Jesus. United with Him, we are able to go forward and life is good and joyful; with Jesus within us we can certainly be better people. Are you looking for more strength? Do you strive to be in good health? STRONG BONES is the answer! The first 12 week session has ended in Wittenberg and they have already begun a second one. Now we are happy to add one in Tigerton starting May 1st. Both Wittenberg and Tigerton will be holding their classes on Monday and Thursday nights from 4:30-5:30 PM. This is brought to us through the Shawano County Human Services to help all people, as this is not just for the ladies, improve their bone density, mood and attitude, as well as decrease depression, increase energy levels and allow you to sleep more soundly. And for all of us aging folks it also helps reduce falls, improves arthritis symptoms, increases flexibility, and increases strength. Each class is led by a certified instructor and all that is needed is for you to wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle, a towel, and floor mat (if you are able to get down on the floor for some of the exercises). Hand weights will be provided for those that wish to use them, otherwise you can do the exercises without. All ages can do this class in the same setting because there are adaptations that are made to tailor each person within the session. Strong Bones is a 12 week session (2 times per week) of low impact progressive weight training, flexibility and balance. It is safe and effective for women and men of all ages, even if not in perfect health. Each Quarter (12 week session) is $35.00. There is aid for those who cannot afford the cost. You must call in to register at 1-715-526-6136 or email kara.skarluka@co.shawano.wi.us. Page 2 Three Parish Catholic Family The presence of Jesus among us and with us is light, life and bread for the journey. Our encounter with Jesus is the force that we need to live with joy and hope. Boys and girls, remember something very important; don t ever forget that God will never enter into your heart and in your life by force. God does not ever want to enslave you to anything. He simply wants you to always be free, to decide whatever you want in your life. God does not want us to do things by force or reluctantly. It is not His style. That is why today He wants to tell you that: + Yesterday, today and always God has loved you, loves you, and will always love you. + Yesterday, today and always God has waited for you, is waiting for you and will wait for you no matter what may happen. The best gift we can give our children for their First Communion is that their parents and all those who attend the First Communion Mass receive the Body of the Lord, after having made a sincere confession as a result of sincere conversion. Parents, family and friends, let us teach these children to share: to share their faith in Jesus with other children, so that from childhood they learn to be missionaries: to share their joy with other children who live in poverty, often times not far from us. I want to thank our friend Jesus for the gift of the Eucharist, for staying with us, and for our being able to receive him in the Eucharistic Celebration. Let us ask Jesus to shed abundant blessings on our boys and girls who today receive the Eucharist for the first time. Also let us ask that their parents have the grace to guide their children and educate them with love. May you as parents be good witnesses of God's love. This Sunday we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday; grant us your love always. May God guard you, protect you, and accompany you always, Fr. José
