The incredible difference you ve made is immeasurable. You ve done so much I can t thank you enough. In 2016 alone, you joined with other passionate supporters to help 3,143,071 people in urgent physical and spiritual need. And you played a critical role in the more than 79 million lives in 70 countries we ve impacted since we began this journey of faith together 26 years ago. I look forward to serving alongside you this year. And I trust that God will continue to accomplish an eternal work through us if we continue to say yes to Him. Your Role! Change starts with YOU When Christ came to earth, He demonstrated His love through selfless, radical action on the cross. And you ve followed in His footsteps by putting your love into action through your overwhelming generosity to help others. Thank you for reflecting Christ s love into some of the darkest places around the world. World Help 2016 Annual Report 5

Help & Hope Help for today... Hope for tomorrow Meeting the needs of one person that s how lasting change begins. You understand this important truth. And that s what makes your giving so powerful. By helping one person at a time escape from poverty and disease, you transform entire communities and the world. When you provide HELP through a single cup of clean water or a nutritious meal, you establish a relationship of trust that opens doors for sharing the HOPE of the Gospel. 6 World Help 2016 Annual Report

What do HELP and HOPE look like? HELP and HOPE show people they matter to God both now and for eternity. That s why your gifts provide immediate, urgent aid as well as long-term solutions for lasting transformation. Here s our holistic approach: Aid and relief When you provide help in times of crisis, you meet critical needs while also establishing a relationship of trust. Sustainability and education After a person s most urgent needs are met, you can provide him with the tools necessary to begin building a better future. Community development Finally, you can help entire communities break the chains of poverty forever with essentials like clean water, shelter, and health care. Every dollar you give toward HELP and HOPE allows a person to receive vital aid while also hearing about God s Word through a national partner or local pastor! World Help 2016 Annual Report 7

Aid & Relief In 2016, your love and compassion helped bring hope to 110,698 refugees like Bedria throughout the Middle East. You also helped send lifesaving aid and relief to 616,520 people in impoverished nations around the world. Your love is more powerful than ISIS Bedria s family had no warning that ISIS was drawing near to their home in Qaraqosch in a breath, they were driven into the streets with nothing but the clothes on their backs. But in their most vulnerable hour, God used you to bring about the miracle they needed. Bedria wasn t prepared for such a warm reception from the strangers at Al-Karma Camp. nourishing meals, durable clothing, medicine and hygiene items, and a room where they could stay. And that s only a portion of the restoration you ve made possible. The ministry here is even more special, Bedria said, as she waited for the women s Bible study to begin. We come here together and meet Jesus, she said, beaming. Because of your generous support, her family immediately received The ministry room was filled to capacity with women of different ages and backgrounds they 8 World Help 2016 Annual Report

were all drawn together by their hunger for God s Word. Your faithful support has provided weekly Bible studies and trauma counseling at the camp. But Bedria s community is just one of many places in the Middle East where you have helped make a difference. You helped provide clean water and healthy food for malnourished refugee children, warm blankets for men and women suffering through the harsh Iraqi winter, and so much more. Your support also contributed to supplying two mobile medical clinics that provide essential care to refugees with nowhere else to turn. Please tell the donors that we are really grateful for the things they have given us, Bedria said. We will use them every day from now on. Thank you. ommunity Development 10 World Help 2016 Annual Report Your love arrived in rural India... and bettered people s lives Manisha was only a few years old when her lowcaste, impoverished community dissolved into mayhem. Her rural village of Nath Maholla was overlooked for centuries. Desperation skyrocketed when government regulations banned one of the community s main sources of income: snake charming. That s when Manisha s father gave himself over to alcohol and sent his children to beg in the streets. Nearly every day, Manisha was forced to look into the uncaring eyes of strangers who brushed past her on the streets while her stomach ached for food and her hands remained empty. But you didn t overlook her. Your love allowed Manisha s family and her entire community to gain access to necessities they desperately needed. After you helped provide a deep bore well, the clean, disease-free water began flowing. The number of sick people in the village diminished quickly! You opened doors of trust in this broken community and transformation has continued to unfold.

In 2016, you helped bring sustainable change to povertystricken communities through: 161 child sponsorship programs in 22 countries 13,719 child sponsorships 83 clean-water projects in 10 countries Giving 66,086 people access to clean water I want to see my children grow, get good jobs, and become respectful citizens of the society, Manisha s father said, his eyes filled with hope. The relationship established through the clean-water well laid the foundation for other community development projects. We had the opportunity to open the first school in this area, which allows children from the slum areas, like Manisha, to attend school for the first time. Today, Manisha is healthy and vibrant as she earns a quality education through the child sponsorship program. Through your support, this program has now rescued 135 children like Manisha. Countless lives are being transformed in this rural community through your faithful support and Manisha s father is one of those. World Help 2016 Annual Report 11

Spiritual Impact 12 World Help 2016 Annual Report How you nourished a church in Rwanda so they could nourish others Deep in the heart of southern Rwanda, poverty and disease seem unstoppable. But they aren t, thanks to you! You helped a light emerge in the darkness the remarkable faith of the church in Bugarama. This church had grown so much that the congregation could no longer fit in the small, wooden house where they had been meeting... but you answered their prayers. Generous supporters, like you, provided them with a new church building large enough for all the believers in the village. Many people in the village were interested in learning more about Jesus, but they felt they were too poor to attend church. When you provided a livestock bundle to the community, the church members used this opportunity to provide physical

In 2016, you helped provide 148,198 personal copies of God s Word, impacting 740,992 lives. And When I got a Bible, it was an answered prayer from God. The Bible is the book of life. It guides my daily living. Faustine Bavugayabo through your faithful prayer and support, 4,387 churches were planted worldwide. help to these individuals in great need. Your generosity combined with the kindness of these believers showed many people that they matter to God no matter their economic situation. Christine, a 15-year-old orphan, was especially grateful for your gift of a pig: I used to think nobody loved me, but [since] the church gave me this pig, I feel very loved and valuable. I have now joined the church choir, and I sing on Sundays with fellow friends at our church. The church is a beacon of hope in Bugarama. The people were sharing about God s love, but they longed for copies of God s Word above all else for their growing congregation. And again, you stepped in. Because of your generosity, the people of Bugarama can do more than hear God s Word now, they have their own Bible and can share it with others in their village. We see this as a time for spiritual transformation, the pastor said. That s transformation that you made possible! World Help 2016 Annual Report 13
