We have chosen the way of truth. Psalm 119:30 VOLUME 2 July 20, 2014 NUMBER 29 From the Pastor s Heart If you are visiting with us, let me be the first to welcome you. We are so glad you chose to join us for worship today. Our prayer is that you will discover the presence of God as we worship today. We are a vibrant church family that seeks to love God and others. We will continue this morning in our study of 1 Corinthians. I'm excited about our passage this morning in 1 Corinthians 11: 17-34. The title of my message this morning is "Remember the Cross". This should be the common cry of heaven's citizens. A great hymn says, "When I survey the wondrous cross on which the Prince of Glory died, my richest gain I count but loss, and pour contempt on all my pride!" I pray that our meditation be filled today with thoughts of the One who bled and died at Calvary. Please make plans to be here next Sunday afternoon for our picnic in the park. We are going to have a huge water slide for the kids and adults, as well as some small slides for the little kids. Bring your lawn chairs and come prepared to have a great afternoon of fellowship. Oh, and by the way, we will also have hamburgers and hotdogs, and homemade ice cream! Come and enjoy the fun from 5-7pm, and then refreshments and food in the fellowship hall at 7pm. Please be in prayer for our mission team that departed Friday for Mexico. They will return on July 25th. Join me in praying that God will use them for His glory. Every Lord's day is special to me, but this Sunday is even a little more special. Today is my sweet and young wife's birthday! I rejoice in my Lord for blessing me with her. I would like to invite each one of you back tonight for a little birthday cake and punch after the evening service in the fellowship hall. Proverbs 18:22 says, "He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord." It's all about Jesus, so let's prepare to worship Him today! In Christ, Bro. Stacy
