CANDLEMAS THE FEAST OF THE PRESENTATION We will once again celebrate the Feast of the Presentation on Monday evening, February 2 nd, at 7:30 PM. Please mark the date on your calendar and make a special effort to attend. This has become quite a tradition here at Mater Ecclesiae. Mater Ecclesiae Financial News We are blessed at Mater Ecclesiae with parishioners who support our parish with their prayers, gifts and talents. When we were founded in 2000, our debt to the Diocese was $474,073.52; for the first time in our history, the balance of our loan is below $400,000.00: $399,341.00. Each month we pay the interest payment, which is approximately $1,450.00 and a payment towards the principal. In 2009 our principal payment is $1,500.00 monthly. Each year, this monthly payment will increase by $100.00 until the loan is paid off in 2024. We thank all of our parishioners for their continued generous support of Mater Ecclesiae and pray for all of our parish families during these difficult financial times. We can be sure that we love God s children when we love God and do what He has commanded. 1 John CAP Training Schedule 5:2 All Mater Ecclesiae parishioners who are involved in activities where they are in regular contact with children must attend a CAP training session. The Diocese requires all adults in regular contact with children to attend a CAP session once every five years. The Office of Safe Environment for Children, Youth and Adults arranges CAP sessions. The CAP (Child Assault Prevention Program) sessions are part of the Diocese of Camden s program of prevention under the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. These sessions teach attendees the mechanics of reporting child physical and sexual abuse as well as bullying concepts and how to help children feel safe, strong and free. If you have not yet attended a CAP training session, or if it has been more than five years since your last session, please plan to attend. In order to plan for sufficient materials, the Diocese needs to know how many people will be attending. To register, please call the registration line at 856 583 6165 or email ddiggons@camdendiocese.org. Please register at least 5 days before the session. The following sessions will be offered in January: Wednesday, January 21, 7:00 PM Notre Dame School, Landisville, Campus Wednesday, January 28, 7:00 PM, St. Rose of Lima, Newfield, Church Basement In case of inclement weather, please call the location of the CAP session you are attending.
