Mission Statement: St. Francis of Assisi Parish is a Christ-centered family of believers, celebrating Christ alive in our lives through the inspiration of the Gospel, church teachings and traditions and the Sacraments. We are sensitive to the spiritual and temporal needs of God s people, acknowledging their uniqueness and dignity and are dedicated to reaching out and serving them through prayer, liturgical celebrations and social ministries. Guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Holy Eucharist, we welcome all people with, respect and compassion. We are vigilant in protecting the rights of the most vulnerable. In the tradition of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, we put the good news of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ into action. DRVC Charismatic Renewal SCHEDULE MARCH 6th 7:00am Ashes Service 8:30am Mass w/ashes 12:00pm Ashes Service 4:30pm Ashes Service 7:30pm Mass w/ashes Time, Talent & Treasure Fostering Stewardship as a way of life Thanks for Giving First Fruits & Taking a Step!!! (Regular Sunday Offertory) February 17th s weekly offering: $7,889.00 Last year s weekly offering: $8,471.00 Bulletin Reflection Can you remember the last time you invited a friend to Mass or told them you would pray for them? Can you remember the last time you critiqued a friend in a judgmental way or gossiped about them to someone? For some of us, we may remember the latter because it may have happened more frequently. This week, whenever we think of condemning someone or gossiping about someone, pray for them first and ask God what He wants you to do in that person s life. Living Stewardship We are grateful for all Christian stewards who do not judge our brothers and sisters but lead them to Jesus, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. To be stewards of the Faith, we must show the world Our Risen Lord. March 3: Eighth Sunday of Ordinary Time In the Gospel today, Jesus uses images in speaking to his disciples: Can a blind man act as guide to a blind man?...why look at the speck in your brother s eye when you miss the plank in your own?...a good tree does not produce decayed fruit... It is true that donations come to the Society because a good person produces goodness from the good in their heart. Sunday s Readings for next week, March 10th: Deuteronomy 26:4 10 The Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand and outstretched arm, with terrifying power, with signs and wonders. Romans 10:8 13 If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Luke 4:1 13 When the devil had finished every tempta on, he departed from him for a me. Send us your email if you would like to start receiving Bringing Home the Word, a weekly message based on the Sunday Scripture readings.
