Malcolm Yarborough Love for the Long Haul I Corinthians 13:7 INTRODUCTION Did you ever send a note that said I like you, do you like me? Yes or No. If you did that when you were very young you were probably experiencing what we call puppy love. Love in our society seems to have left the permanent category and moved to the temporary list. I love you today but we will wait and see about tomorrow. This is not the love Christians are to share. Today, let s look at love for the long haul. I. Bears all things A. Love that will hold up B. Love that will overcome circumstances II. Believes all things A. Love that always looks for the best B. Love that sees the sin (and holds us accountable) but never stops loving the sinner. III. Hopes all things A. Will never quit trying to encourage B. The eternal optimist IV. Endures all things. a. Love, no matter what b. Christ is the perfect example. Paul was a tremendous example himself. CONCLUSION Today, may God help us make our love endure for the long haul. May we love each other as Christ loved us!
