Our last Divine Liturgy May 28, 2017! Christ is Risen! Indeed He is Risen! We will hold our last service on Sunset Drive on Sunday May 28, 2017. Arrangements are being made to hold weekend services in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Painted Post until we can move into the Canada Road site We will need a coordinated effort to make our move from Sunset Drive as smooth as possible. St. Mary s Orthodox Church Un-Official Council Meeting Minutes April 23, 2017 Members Present: Chuck Coons, Rodney Kerrick Ted Kerrick, Nancy Gabel, Diane Rodrigues, Don Kakretz, Carol Telehany, Gloria Ewsuk, and Mary Leonard. Also In Attendance: Father Dan The meeting was opened at 11:35 with a prayer. Chuck requested a motion to accept the minutes of March 19, 2017. A motion was made by Diane and seconded by Nancy. The minutes were approved. Priest Report: Shut-ins have been visited and all are okay. Kathleen Petrochko, sister of Gloria Ewsuk fell asleep in the Lord on March 26, 2017. Funeral services and burial were held in Boston, MA. Olga Breyan, a new parish member, and aunt of Joanne Albrecht fell asleep in the Lord on April 2, 2017 in Wellsboro, PA. Funeral services and burial were held in St. Tikhon s Monastery, S. Canaan, PA. Services during Holy Week and Pascha were well attended. With our last service on Sunset Drive scheduled for May 28, 2017, Father Dan has postponed the blessing of graves to a date to be determined during the summer months. He has also contacted Deacon Dean Condon requesting use of one of their facilities until we can move to Canada Road. Father will be attending the Annual Priest Retreat at Camp Nazareth April 25 thru April 28 th. Financial Report: There was no Financial Report available. Old Business: Relocation Update: St. Mary s Orthodox Church Un-Official Council Meeting Minutes April 23, 2017 Chuck and Ted continue working on the wiring in the new Church and Hall. Chuck is continuing to get estimates for the rectory flooring. List of donatables: Nancy is working on a list of donatables. Parish Directory: Nancy reported that the directory is almost complete. There are just a couple of items that she needs and it will be done. Time Frame to Sell Current Rectory: Additional repair work and flooring need to be completed at the Canada Road rectory before Chatfield Place can be put on the market. Moving Discussion: Small items and icons on the back wall need to be wrapped and packed. A decision needs to be made on whether we will be able to take the chandeliers. We might be able to continue using the church basement for storage after May. Chuck will check with the Wagner s. Social Function: Plans are being made to have a luncheon in the Church hall on the last Sunday, May 28 th. New Business: The Council discussed having a rummage sale around July. Paving Quote: Chuck received a paving quote in the amount of $2,300 for a 25 foot apron. (This is the first 25 feet going into the property). The quote for the balance of the driveway and parking lot was $34,000. 6
