APPROVE A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT FOR DESIGN SERVICES FOR THE DISTRICT S CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM WITH THENDESIGN ARCHITECTURE, LTD., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $4,951,243.00. WHEREAS, the District's electorate recently passed a bond issue for a major capital improvement program; and WHEREAS, the District has previously ranked ThenDesign Architecture, Ltd. (TDA) as the most qualified design firm for the District s Capital Improvement Program (Project); and WHEREAS, the District's administrative team has met TDA to negotiate an agreement for the provision of design and related services for the Project; and WHEREAS, the District and TDA have reached an agreement in an amount not to exceed $4,951,243.00; and WHEREAS, the proposed contract form has been developed by the State of Ohio. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Education of the North Royalton City School District, that: Section 1. This Board hereby authorizes the Board President and Treasurer to execute, on the District s behalf, the Agreement for Professional Design Services on file with the Treasurer in an amount not to exceed $4,951,243.00. Section 2. This Board finds and determines that all formal actions of this Board and of any of its committees concerning and relating to the adoption of this resolution were taken, and that all deliberations of this Board and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions were held, in meetings open to the public, in compliance with the law. Section 3. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and immediately upon its adoption.

3 X. REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE SUPERINTENDENT a. Superintendent Report and Recommendations 4. ADOPT 2018-2019 AND 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR CALENDARS. Resolve the Board of Education adopt the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 School Year Calendars (Exhibits #1 and #2). 5. APPOINT OSBA DELEGATE AND ALTERNATE. Resolve the Board of Education approve Dr. Susan Clark as delegate and Dr. John Kelly as alternate to the Ohio School Boards Association s Annual Capital Conference, held November 11-13, 2018. 6. APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH APPLEWOOD CENTERS, INC. Resolve the Board of Education approve the contract with Applewood Centers, Inc. (Gerson School) for the purpose of providing special education programs and services needed for the 2017-2018 school year. 7. APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH THE EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER OF CUYAHOGA COUNTY FOR A BUSINESS ADVISORY COUNCIL JOINT AGREEMENT. Resolve the Board of Education approve an agreement for the North Royalton City School District to partner with the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County for the purpose of establishing and providing a Business Advisory Council as required and authorized by ORC 3313.82 and ORC 3313.821. 8. APPROVE AGREEMENT BEREA CITY SCHOOLS. Resolve the Board of Education agree to purchase one seat from the Berea City School District for the Ombudsman Alternative Education Program for the 2017-2018 school year for the purpose of providing educational services for an identified student at a cost of $5,047 per seat. b. Professional Development, Grants, Stipends, Curriculum 9. APPROVE 2018-2019 COURSE CATALOG. Resolve the Board of Education approve the North Royalton High School Course Catalog for the 2018-2019 school year. c. Personnel and Policy 10. ACCEPT RESIGNATION/RETIREMENT. Resolve the Board of Education accept the following resignation/retirement: Resignation Lisa Adkins/Cleaner/Middle School/effective January 31, 2018 11. APPROVE/AMEND LEAVE OF ABSENCE. Resolve the Board of Education approve/amend the following unpaid leave of absence: Terry Pfister/effective February 23, 2018 (.5) through March 2, 2018

4 12. APPROVE CHANGE OF ASSIGNMENTS. Resolve the Board of Education approve the following change of assignments effective 2017-2018 school year or as indicated: Mary Ellen Feigi - from High School Cafeteria Manager to Interim Food Service Supervisor/effective February 5, 2018 through June 25, 2018, at the base rate of $36,500 Robin Kramer - from High School Cafeteria Worker to High School Cafeteria Manager/effective February 5, 2018 through June 6, 2018 13. APPROVE APPOINTMENTS CERTIFICATED/LICENSED AND CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES. Resolve the Board of Education approve the following appointments to the certificated/licensed and classified staffs of the North Royalton City Schools be confirmed with the understanding that such persons are subject to all provisions of law pertaining to the employment of said persons; and said employment is contingent upon subsequent receipt by the board of a report from the Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation which is not inconsistent with the applicants answers on the employment application. Resolve the Board of Education award the North Royalton Middle School masonry repair project base bid to M-A Building and Maintenance Company, Inc., in the amount of $251,300.00. 20. OHIO SCHOOL FACILITIES COMMISSION EXPEDITED LOCAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM - DESIGN PHASE REVIEW. WHEREAS, the Board of Education of the North Royalton City School District, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, met in regular session on February 12, 2018, and adopted the following Resolution; and WHEREAS, the Ohio School Facilities Commission has approved the School District to participate in the Expedited Local Partnership Program; and WHEREAS, after conducting a Design Phase Review of the Construction Document Phase for the Masonry Renovations at North Royalton Middle School portion of the Master Plan being executed by the district; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education of the North Royalton City School District, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, that the School Board hereby agrees to make the required revisions (if any) and acknowledges the Design Comments as shown in the attached Design Phase Review. 6

Resolve the Board of Education accept and acknowledge the following gifts/donations: -Ridgewood YMCA Adventure Guides donated $125.00 to the cheerleading program at North Royalton High School. -Ohio Middle Level Association donated $500.00 to North Royalton Middle School for their leadership conference. -Pizza Fire of Broadview Heights donated 25 certificates for a free pizza, valued at $224.75, to Royal View Elementary. -Donald Filips donated various books, valued at approximately $40.00, to North Royalton Middle School. -Jami Haley, of Broadview Heights, donated new books, valued at $70.00, to the library at Royal View Elementary. 7 XI.
