A Word From The Pres It is hard to believe that September is here. You know, September is a very special month of the year. Great things start to happen in September, cooler weather, less bugs, trees turning, and OH YES, your president was born. Don t panic; there is a Wal-Mart on every corner, and they re open 24 hours a day. Speaking of gifts, what a great picnic Pat and her daughter put on for us after the auto cross. What a day that was. Thanks to all the members of our club and the Eau Claire club for your tremendous support. We could not have done it without you. Many of you have seen in the photo gallery Mark Kay with one ski out of the water. Well, at our last ride n dine I think he had one oar out of the water, or should I say I think he stopped to put an oar in the water. Anyway, due to his aging bladder he needed to stop and relieve himself on a 50 minute ride which resulted in his getting left by the road side and then unable to find us at the restaurant. Never fear, his lovely wife Lynn called home to find out we had called and all ended well. Mark, thanks for being a good sport that night. Many more things coming this fall. Please check the events calendar. Jeff August 2004 MONTHLY MEETING General Meeting: Sunday, August 22, 2004 at Pat Smith s home. Thanks to Pat and her daughter, Trudy, for hosting the sunburned autocross workers. Meeting called to order by president, Jeff Schroeder, at 7:00. Twelve members and one guest present. Jim Rowley motioned to approve treasurer s report and Judy Rowley seconded. Motion carried. Web Master s Report: Web Master, John Gesslein reported our e-mails are reaching prospective members. NCCC forms are on the website. He reported to delete searches on the web because they don t apply to us. The website has been renewed for three years and the domain has also been renewed. Governor s Report: Governor, Tom Stibbe, thanked everyone who worked to make the autocross a successful event. He asked to think about options for our sanctions for next year. See Governor s Report. Activities Report: Joan Schreck was absent. No Ride N Dine on Friday, Sept. 10. AppleFest Parade is Sunday, Sept 19. Meet at Jeff and Ruth Schroeder at 11:30 for lunch. October Fest opening day parade is Friday, Sept 24. Meet at Brewery Hospitality Center at 9:45. Sunday, Sept. 26th Ride N Dine led by John and Susan Gesslein. Meet at Fiesta Mexicana (former White Tails) at 4:00. Monthly meeting to follow. See Activities Report. Old Business: 1. Schedule your photo anytime now until the holidays. New Business: 1. Claude Mosley led discussion on sale of old timing equipment. It was unanimously approved to sell it. 2. Jim Rowley motioned to adjourn meeting, Pat Smith seconded to adjourn at 7:45.. Respectfully submitted, Judy Mosley Secretary - - - - - - - THANK YOU - - - - - - - Tom and Mary Stibbe for August Ride N Dine

John Gesslein for Mastering our Website Pat Smith for a Great Gathering After a SUCCESSFUL AUTOCROSSS And THANK YOU AUTOCROSS WORKERS!! - - - - - - - THANK YOU - - - - - - - Governor s Report - August 2004 Tom Stibbe 608-788-2772 Thanks to all our members that came out for the August ride & dine. We drove to the Skyline Golf Course Restaurant in Black River Falls, meeting up with a few members of the Chippewa Valley Corvette Club. It was a welcome opportunity to meet the new governor (Tom Burt and Mary) and see some familiar faces (Tom & Susie Rohrer) from CVCC. The River Valley Autocross was held August 22, 2004. The event was a joint effort between River City Corvettes and Chippewa Valley Corvettes (Eau Claire area). We registered 37 total drivers, with about 27 corvette drivers. We started the event near our 10:30 start time and finished a few minutes after 5:00 pm. After the event, we retired to member Pat Smith s home in West Salem for a great outdoor picnic dinner. No autocross goes without a couple of glitches (timing lights, cones flying, following protocols), however, the group of club volunteers worked thru the challenges and made the day a success for the participants. The event results are finished and should be mailed out to participants next week. It is the time of year we need to start talking about what the members would like to see placed on the event schedule for next year. We have 7 sanctions available from the National Council of Corvette Clubs. We also have area clubs (Chippewa Valley and R.A.C.E) that are interested in partnering for future events. Please bring your requests to the regular monthly meetings or by contacting a board member. Webmaster s Notes

To see what club events are coming up for the month of September, please check the Events Calendar page. New pictures have been added to the Gallery page. The RCC Photo Session Brochure which will benefit Coulee Council on Addictions is available on our website. If you are a Corvette owner and would like get more information about the River City Corvettes Club, just send us an email at rcc-boardmembers@rivercitycorvettes.com. John Gesslein
