Merits of This is a Medinan sūrah. The surah that opens with the mention of The Quake of the earth in utter destruction at the end of the world. It takes its name from the quake (al-zalzalah) mentioned in verse 1. The surah deals with scenes from the Day of Judgement.. It is narrated from Imam Ja far as-sadiq (a.s.) that whoever recites this surah in his nawafil (recommended) prayers will not die as a result of an earthquake and will be saved from all the natural calamities. The experience of death is made easy for the one who recites this surah and he sees the light of Jannah as he is about to die. Then, seventy thousand angels accompany his soul to the heavens. Keeping this surah in one s possession is a safety from tyrant rulers.

ب ش م الل ي الر ح الر ح ي م ن م In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful. عظیم اور دائمی رحمج ں هام صے کے والے خدا अल ऱ ह क न म स ज बड क ऩ ऱ और अत यन त दय व न ह bi-smi llāhi r-raḥmāni r-raḥīmi
ز ال ا ر ض ز ل ت ز ل ١ إ ذ ا زل ا ل When the earth is rocked with a terrible quake جب زمین زوروں کے صاثھ زلزلہ گی ا جائے میں जब धरत इस प रक र हहऱ ड ऱ ज एग ज स उस हहऱ य ज न ह, ˈiḏā zulzilati l-ˈarḍu zilzālahā
ق ا ر ض اث ال ٢ و ا خ ر ج ت ا ل and the earth discharges her burdens, اور وہ صارے خزاهے هکال ڈالے گی और धरत अऩन ब झ ब हर ननक ऱ द ग, wa-ˈaḫraǧati l-ˈarḍu ˈaṯqālahā
ا ل هش ان م ا ل ا ٣ و ق ال and man says, What is the matter with her? اور اهشان کےہ کیا ہ اصے گا کہ گیا ےہ और मन ष य कह ग, "उस क य ह गय ह?" wa-qāla l-ˈinsānu mā lahā
ا ٤ ي م ب ار ئ ذ ث ح د ث ا خ On that day she will relate her chronicles وہ اس دن اپوی خبریوبیان کرے گی उस हदन वह अऩन व त त त स न एग, yawmaˈiḏin tuḥaddiṯu ˈaḫbārahā
و ح ب ا ن ر ب ك ا ل ا ٥ for her Lord will have inspired her. کہ ثمہارے پروردگار هے اصے کیا ےہ اشارہ इस क रण कक त म ह र रब न उस यह स क त ककय ह ग bi-ˈanna rabbaka ˈawḥā lahā
٦ ي م ي ر و ا ل ئ ذ ي ط د ر الو اس ا ش ج اث ع م م ا ا ال On that day, mankind will issue forth in various groups to be shown their deeds. اس روز صارے اهشان گروہ در گروہ قبروں صے هکلیں گے ثاکہ اپےن اعمال ک دیکھ صکیں उस हदन ऱ ग अऱग-अऱग ननकऱ ग, त कक उन ह कमम हदख ए ज ए yawmaˈiḏin yaṣduru n-nāsu ˈaštātan li-yuraw ˈaʿmālahum
ف م ن ي ع م ل ي ر ذ ر م ث قال ة خ ا ي ر ى ٧ So whoever does an atom s weight of good will see it, پھر جس شخص برابر هے ذرہ هیکی کی ےہ وہ اصے دیکھے گا अत ज क ई कणभर भ न क कर ग, वह उस द ख ऱ ग, fa-man yaʿmal miṯqāla ḏarratin ḫayran yarahū
و م ن ي ع م ل م ث قال ذ ر ة ش ر ا ي ر ى ٨ and whoever does an atom s weight of evil will see it. اور جس هے ذرہ برابر برائی کی ےہ وہ اصے دیکھے گا और ज क ई कणभर भ ब र ई कर ग, वह भ उस द ख ऱ ग wa-man yaʿmal miṯqāla ḏarratin šarran yarahū
