Shoeboxes Jane Cook will again be collecting Shoeboxes for disadvantaged children in Albania, Montenegro, Moldova and the Philippines. She has put some information on the table at the back of church together with some of last year s leaflets giving you details of the ages and what to put in your box. Jane understands from The Rotary that the contents won't change. As soon as she receives the new leaflets she will put them out on the table at the back of church. Please remember to cover your box in Christmas wrapping paper and sellotape 1 to your box. You can let her have the boxes anytime but the last Sunday Jane will be collecting is Sunday 28th October. Thanks To make you giggle The Helper A priest is walking down the street one day when he notices a very small boy trying to press a doorbell on a house across the street. However, the boy is very small and the doorbell is too high for him to reach. After watching the boys efforts for some time, the priest moves closer to the boy's position. He steps smartly across the street, walks up behind the little fellow and, placing his hand kindly on the child's shoulder leans over and gives the doorbell a solid ring. Crouching down to the child's level, the priest smiles benevolently and asks, "And now what, my little man?" To which the boy replies, "Now we run!" To make you giggle The healthy Christians Two Christians have lived very good, and also very healthy lives. They die, and go to heaven. As they are walking along, marvelling at the paradise around them, one turns to the other and says "Wow. I never knew heaven was going to be as good as this!" "Yeah", says the other. "And just think, if we hadn't eaten all that oat bran we could have got here ten years sooner." To make you giggle What time of day was Adam created? Just a little before Eve. Why didn t they play cards on the Ark? Because Noah was always standing on the deck.

Praying for those in need Please let us know if you need to have someone included on the prayer list. Also let us know if that person has got better so we can celebrate their recovery.
