PARISH MISSION 2016 MARCH 14th thru MARCH 16th Dear brothers and sisters, I invite all of you to the Annual Parish Mission preached by Most Reverend Edmond Carmody, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas. During Lent, as we prepare ourselves to celebrate the Pascal Mysteries of the suffering, death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Church asks us to produce fruits of conversion by repenting of our sins and reconciling with God and our neighbor. One of the ways to do it is by attending Mass and the Parish Mission talks in the mornings and evenings of March 14-16. Penance Service in the evening on Tuesday, March 15 th after the talk will give us the opportunity to be reconciled with God and others. Now that we have more space in the new expanded church, please invite your family, friends and neighbors to the Parish Mission so that they may also be able to approach the Lord with minds and hearts prepared. As you all know, on Easter Sunday morning we will have great crowds of people attending Mass. Last year for the 10:00 am Mass alone, there were over 1200 people. It will be our duty as Disciples of Christ to invite all of them to be spiritually prepared to celebrate the Paschal Mysteries. The new Evangelization that Saint John Paul II envisioned mandates that we take an active role in bringing people not only to Church but to conversion of hearts. It will enable us, the true Church, the People of God, to come together as one body of Christ, to share in the Joy of the Lord s Resurrection. Fr. Jose Kallukalam Monday morning 8:30 am Mass followed with a talk. Monday evening 6:00 pm Mass followed with a talk. Tuesday morning 8:30 am Mass followed with a talk. Easter is the holiest day in our Christian calendar, as we celebrate Christ's victory over death for our salvation. What better way to say "thank you" to Jesus than by serving our parishioners? Volunteers are needed to prepare, cook, serve & clean up. Admission is free. OUR PASSION PLAY CAST NEEDS YOUR HELP! STRAIGHT LINES God writes straight with crooked lines, the saying goes. The power of Paul s testimony that everything is junk but knowledge of Jesus and the power of his resurrection is a straight enough message. And, God knows, Paul had a crooked journey before his blinding insight straight from God. Through Isaiah, God reminds us all that the past great works were as nothing compared to the new creation. Can t you see it? we are asked, as if we are still wandering along our crooked lines. And there is no straighter line than that between the woman whose misery is intense and the God whose mercy in Jesus is deeper and more acute. You just can t beat this kind of good news. We are beginning to work on costumes and are in need of solid color fabric 1 yard to 1 1/2 yards each: Deep red purple white navy medium blue earth tones Fabrics can be dropped off by the choir area on Sundays For more information please call/email: Kathleen Lunman 904-310-9389 or (732) 895-9234 kfl2@comcast.net THE PARISH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23RD TO ATTEND THE CHRISM MASS IN ST.
