My Dear Parishioners, I was very happy with our celebration of Communal Penance on Monday, March 7 th. Many people came to confession. I am grateful to Sandy Yody and the Contemporary Music Ministry, who supplied the music for that evening. We are planning to strip, clean and wax the church floors from Monday, March 14 th through Friday, March 18 th in preparation for Palm Sunday, our Holy Week Services and Easter. With this in mind, all weekday Masses, Friday Stations of the Cross and Choir Practice will be cancelled for this coming week. Let us pray that this works out well. We will be having a Eucharistic Holy Hour on Sunday, March 13 th at 12:30 pm. The Holy Hour includes Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary, Reflection, Benediction and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Please consider joining us in prayer. We are celebrating our Annual Easter Breakfast on Sunday, March 13 th from 9 am to 1 pm. The breakfast includes French Toast, Sausage, Scrambled Eggs, Juice, Coffee and Milk. Please come to the Easter Breakfast and enjoy a delicious breakfast and fellowship with our parishioners. We will also have an Easter Basket drawing. You may still purchase raffle tickets for the drawing the day of the breakfast, in the school hall. The proceeds from the breakfast and raffle will go to our parish St. Vincent de Paul Society to serve the poor in our midst. Next weekend, March 19 th & 20 th, we celebrate the tradition of St. Joseph s table. As St. Joseph provided for the needs of Mary & Jesus, we are invited to provide for the needs of others. Please bring canned goods and/or other nonperishable food items and paper products when you come to Mass. These items will be taken to our parish food pantry at the rectory. People come to our door asking for food. Your donations will help us to feed the needy in our midst. Karen Small is coordinating the Garden Committee. She is contacting people who showed an interest in this committee on the Stewardship sheets that were completed. The garden committee will be meeting in the garden, on the corner of East 49 th & Independence Road, on the First Saturday of every month April thru October from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. Their first meeting will be the first Saturday of April, April 2 nd from 9:30 am to 11:30 am. If you are interested in joining this committee, please contact the rectory office. There are extra copies of our Holy Week Schedule by the entrance doors of our church. Please take a copy for someone not attending our parish who may be interested in returning to celebrate the Easter Season. Let us make this a Holy Week in our lives and in our Parish as we assemble together to reflect upon the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Our Savior. Prayers & Best Wishes! He reveals in no uncertain terms that life in Christ is our goal. Everything else, he maintains, is rubbish. Junk. Trash. Garbage. Is that true? Is everything else rubbish compared to deepening our relationship with the Lord? What about putting recreational activities ahead of attending Mass? Or preferring uninterrupted hours playing the latest video games or watching TV to spending time in a bible study group, choir practice or serving in a soup kitchen? Or keeping late hours at work over sharing the gospel with friends and neighbors? To what extent do we exercise stewardship over our relationship with Christ? May our prayers bring healing, comfort and strength to the sick and their caregivers, remembering especially Mildred Aiello, Mary Adams, Agnes Bartoszek, Greg Basco, Gwen Beres, Bill Bican, Joyce Bican, Mary Ann Betliskey, Bill Connors, Corrine Dawe, Dolores Dobransky, Diane Dufalla, Ann Marie Sykora Dvorak, Jose Dybzinski, Kristin Hill, Gertrude Kocab, Lucy Konkoly, Tom Konkoly, Madeline Koston, Judy Landolph, Bishop Richard Lennon, Pat Lubrano, Art Madsen, Cindi Magyar, Marilyn O Meara, Jeannette Morrow, Dan Palmentera, Suzanne Patton, Rita Petkoff, John Pocius, Betty Rhine, Brianna Rhine, Laurel Salupo, Noreen Spehar, Elaine Stack, Rev.
