God s Insurance Policy: Remember The Prisoners, The Weak And The Poor By Apostle J.P. Timmons November 19, 2011 2011 CCI Publishing ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Remember the prisoners, as though in Prison with them, and those who are ill-treated Hebrews 13:3 CCI has been involved in prison and jail ministry for many years both here in the USA and abroad. We ve also been involved in ministering at nursing homes. In the town in Montana where we began a church in 2003 we are the only church involved in jail and nursing home ministry. Unfortunately, the poor, the weak and the old aren t very important to many people and this has extended to the Church. But then we have this verse of Scripture, don t we? And we have the life of Jesus Christ as a testimony of how to live our own lives, don t we?

Several months back I was impressed by the Holy Spirit to begin an earnest study of everything Jesus did and said in the Gospels and the beginning of the Book of Acts before He was taken up into Heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. Jesus not only ministered to the poor and ill-treated but He identified with them! He didn t identify with the religious leaders of His time who wanted to be recognized and honored. Yet Jesus said in Matthew 25 that in the final judgment the one we refer to as the Sheep and Goat Judgment: Before him k will be gathered l all the nations, and m he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates n the sheep from the goats. 33 And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. 34 Then o the King will say to p those on his right, Come, you q who are blessed by my Father, r inherit s the kingdom t prepared for you u from the foundation of the world. 35 For v I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you w gave me drink, x I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 v I was naked k [ch. 24:31] l Joel 3:12; [ch. 24:14; 28:19] m ch. 13:49 n Ezek. 34:17 o ver. 40; Luke 19:38; Rev. 17:14; 19:16; [Isa. 6:5] p 1 Kgs. 2:19; Ps. 45:9; 110:1 q [Ps. 37:22; Isa. 65:23; Eph. 1:3] r ch. 19:29; Rev. 21:7 s Luke 12:32; 22:29 t ch. 20:23; [1 Cor. 2:9; Heb. 11:16] u See ch. 13:35 v Isa. 58:7; Ezek. 18:7, 16; [James 2:15, 16] w ch. 10:42

and you clothed me, y I was sick and you z visited me, a I was in prison and you came to me. 37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? 38 And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? 39 And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you? 40 And b the King will answer them, c Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these d my brothers, 6 you did it to me. 1 And I would submit to you that the Lord meant what He said. If we expect to be included with the Sheep then we must be obedient to the commandments of Jesus and one of these is to visit the prisoners and to help the poor and ill-treated, which definitely includes the aborted babies. In 2004 our church in Montana decided as a body to obey Luke 14:12 where Jesus said: When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid. But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous. x Job 31:32; Rom. 12:13; Heb. 13:1, 2; 3 John 5 v [See ver. 35 above] y [Luke 10:33, 34] z James 1:27 a 2 Tim. 1:16; [Heb. 10:34; 13:3] b ver. 34 c See ch. 10:40, 42 d ch. 28:10; John 20:17; Rom. 8:29; Heb. 2:11; [ch. 12:50] 6 Or brothers and sisters 1 The Holy Bible : English Standard Version. Wheaton : Standard Bible Society, 2001, S. Mt 25:31-40

We hand delivered engraved invitations to each person or family and because it was just before Christmas we also wrapped gifts for every single person who came! We set the tables with fine dinnerware and linen table cloths and we not only cooked their meal of turkey with all the trimmings but we personally served them and waited on them as if they were rich patrons at our restaurant. It was an exciting time! We gave each person at the door a wrapped Christmas present and a ticket and then we gave away many prizes such as a $400 gift certificate for food at the local supermarket. We rented a big banquet hall and, of course, there was a huge blizzard the day of this dinner but well over 100 people came anyway and we fed them, gave them gifts and don t forget this part preached the Gospel to them and gave them an opportunity to accept Jesus as their Savior and Provider. We also prayed for those who wanted individual prayer. Another thing our church did was to purchase and wrap an individual Christmas gift for every person at the nursing home there and we delivered them during a Christmas service when we sang Christmas carols to all the people there. Probably for many there it was the only present or prayers they received that Christmas when we went to each room and prayed for those who wanted prayer. Now, we didn t do this to get a reward, although Jesus promised that we would get a reward at the resurrection, and you will get to see it for yourselves on that Day. No, we did it just to be obedient to the Lord Jesus Christ but what a blessing we all received just for doing this. About 11 years ago we were on our way from Helena to minister in British Columbia and we stopped to go to church in Missoula, Montana. After praise and worship the pastor stood up and asked the congregation to pray. He said that they had $50,000 to give away and he wanted them to pray about what the Lord wanted them to do with it. So, Eve and I began to pray along with everybody else and the Spirit of the Lord came upon me so I stood up to prophesy what the Lord had given me that He wanted them to use the $50,000 to help the poor in that community.

Unfortunately, the pastor completely ignored me! Finally he came to the pulpit and announced that he felt that the Lord wanted them to give the $50,000 to Jerry Savelle Ministries and that he would personally take the check down to them in Texas the next week! Well, thank God they gave it to a ministry instead of spending it on something foolish for themselves but the will of the Lord was not done on that day. Why not? Well, it s not just because most ministers are unable to follow the Holy Ghost, although this is a sad fact. One of the main reasons so many churches and ministries don t obey the Lord and minister to the prisoners, the poor and the illtreated is because there is no glory and no money in it. Besides, most of them are too busy fund raising on the Balaam Networks to carry on their ministry of greed and covetousness to be doers of the Word. You want to know why so many people in your community don t want to have anything to do with you or your church, Christian friend? Perhaps it s because they don t see you interested, involved or invested in their lives. Want to make a difference in your community? Do you want to see people healed, saved and delivered from the powers of Darkness? Then get involved in their lives, invest that money you had planned to send to one of the Balaam Networks to get that blessing they promised you. Believe the Word and Jesus will give you the blessing for being obedient. Praise the Lord. Finally, I want to share something with you that I learned from the Lord that He is in the insurance business. I bet you didn t know that, did you? One of my favorite Scriptures that I read and meditate on each month is Psalm 41and it s here, among many other scriptures, that we find God s insurance policy. Blessed (Happy, fortunate, to be envied) is he who considers the weak and the poor; the Lord will deliver him in the time of evil and trouble. The Lord will protect him and keep him alive; he shall be called blessed in the land; and You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will sustain, refresh, and strengthen him on his bed of languishing; all his bed You [O Lord] will turn, change, and transform in his illness. Psalm 46:1-3, Amplified Bible

Now the Lord told me that this was His insurance policy so I would encourage you to read and meditate on these verses many times because I want you to notice carefully the Word of the Lord coming to you from the Spirit of God. He said that if you consider and help the poor, the weak, the prisoners, the naked, etc., that the Lord will deliver him in the time of evil and trouble. When Jesus says the Lord will that don t mean maybe! He will do it! So if you think there s a possibility that you may encounter a day of trouble or day of evil or a day of sickness or if you re in one now then you can call on your insurance policy to pay off for you and bless you because you ve ministered to the poor, the weak, the crippled and those in prisons. The Word says not only will you be delivered but you shall be called blessed in the land. Now I don t know about you but I d rather believe this Word of the Lord than all those Dr. so and so s appearing on the Balaam Networks promising you the same thing if you ll only send your money to them. I know that the Spirit of Jesus wants you to seek His face and let Him tell you who among this group of people that He wants to honor by having you minister to them. Praise the Lord!
