OUR AFFIRMATION OF FAITH I believe in God, the maker of Heaven and Earth, the ruler and preserver of our lives. I believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, my Lord, and Savior. I believe in the Holy Spirit, who proceeded from the Father and Son, who is the giver of life. I believe in the Bible, the Universal Church, Holy Baptism, and the Lord s Supper. I believe in the Resurrection of the dead and life in the world to come. RESPONSIVE READING GOD S EVERLASTING LOVE + Romans 8:31-39 (NKJ) LEADER: 31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? CONGREGATION: 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? LEADER: 33 Who shall bring a charge against God s elect? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. CONGREGATION: 35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? LEADER: 36 As it is written: For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. CONGREGATION: 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate me from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. LEADER: The Word of God, for the People of God. ALL: GLORY BE TO GOD! OUR MISSION The Mount Vernon Baptist Church- Westwood exists to honor God in all that we do, proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and live by the power of the Holy Spirit. OUR VISION Our Vision is to be a growing, generous, healthy, and impactful church family; one that transforms lives, serves our community and develops leaders to impact the next generation.
