Marriage Weekend The weekend of February 9/10 in all parishes of the Archdiocese of Toronto has been designated as Marriage Sunday. A special weekend for Married Couples, Widows, Widower s. We will invite all married couples to renew their wedding vows during Mass at the same time we will pray for those preparing for marriage as well as all widows and widower s. Our prayers will also embrace those who are separated, divorced and facing troubles in their relationships. Take a Stroll Down Memory Lane Please join us on Sunday, February 10 th following the 9:00 and 11:00 am Mass in the Parish Hall for an Extra Special Marriage Coffee Sunday Reception. Join in the celebration of the Marriage Weekend by bringing in a photocopy of your wedding picture (if you did not submit one last year). This also includes the Widows and Widowers we would love to see your pictures too. Please give your picture to a welcomer or drop off at the Parish Office with the Bride s maiden name and the Grooms name, year of marriage indicated on the back of your picture. They will be displayed in the Parish Hall on Sunday, February 10 th. You don t want to miss this!
Celebration of Marriage Mass with Cardinal Collins- February 10, 2019 4:00 pm Cardinal Thomas Collins will preside at a special Mass to honour couples celebrating milestone anniversaries in 2019. If you are celebrating a 25 th, 40 th, 50 th or 60 + wedding anniversary, you are invited to join in this special celebration. The Mass will be celebrated at St. Clare of Assisi Parish (150 St. Francis Ave., Woodbridge). A reception will follow Mass. All are welcome to attend. Couples attending are asked to register online or by phone to ensure reserved seating. Public Speaking Contest- Monday, 4 February The Mary Matthews Public Speaking Contest sponsored by the CWL will take place at 6:45 pm in the Guardian Angels Parish Hall. Students from the different separate schools will be competing. We are inviting parishioners to come out and support these students. Refreshments to follow. The winner will go on to participate in the Northern Region Contest.
Baptism Preparation / Baptism A Baptism Preparation course for infants will take place Tuesday, February 5 at 7:00 pm in Guardian Angels Church. Father Andrew Cyruk s 50 th Birthday Celebration On Sunday, February 24 th, there will be a Special Birthday Celebration for Father Andrew Cyruk s 50 th Birthday. They have been given to the Foot Clinic run by Sr. Rosemary McGinn in Toronto, the Foot Clinic at the Common Roof, and the Lighthouse in Orillia, as well as the Busby Centre in Barrie. May God bless you for helping those less fortunate this winter. Prayer for Consecrated Persons God our Father, we thank you for calling men and women to serve in your Son s Kingdom as sisters, brothers, religious priests, consecrated virgins, and hermits, as well as members of Secular Institutes. Renew their knowledge and love of you, and send your Holy Spirit to help them respond generously and courageously to your will. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen. There are also a limited number of Sunday Missals still in stock at $4 each. When these are gone, we won t be able to get more. Come in after Saturday evening and Sunday Masses to look at our selection of spiritually-themed books and religious articles.
