St Mary s Church Family News This Week Summer at St Mary's Sunday Mornings at 9.30am: we will be hearing from some of the Mission Agencies that we support, and/or people from St Mary's are involved in. Aug 6 th : Teach Beyond (and Holiday Club service!); Aug 13 th : Impact Foundation; Aug 20 th : Anchor Counselling; Aug 27 th CoCo's Foundation; Oct 1 st World Vision. Sunday Evenings at 5pm Café Church - Space to worship, discuss, eat... (in the Leslie Room): In the evenings we will be looking at some of the different ways that people in the Bible have looked at Jesus: this week s session 30 th July is on 'Stumbling Blocks in the Bible' (please bring any thoughts and questions!), and then throughout August we will be following a theme on Aug 6 th Jesus the Teacher; Aug 13 th Jesus the Messiah; Aug 20 th Jesus the Prophet; Aug 27 th Jesus the Healer. Please pray for all at the St. Mary s Rocky s Plaice Holiday Club which is being held this week from Mon 31 st July until Fri 4 th August, from 9.30am 12 noon for children aged between 5 and 11. It is a week of challenges, games, craft, music, aerobics, drama & puppets to explore how God can help us make a difference in the world. Could you make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people at Horsham Y Centre (YMCA)? At YMCA Horsham we are expanding our chaplaincy team. Could you be a volunteer chaplain and add real value to the work we do? We are looking for people of faith who are kind, good listeners, non-judgemental, with a sense of humour and a love of young people. You would work in a small team, and have some training and support. Our chaplaincy service has been established at Horsham Y Centre for over 4 years and is deeply valued by staff and young people. Chaplaincy takes place on Thursdays evenings from 9.30-11pm. We would ask for a commitment of one evening every 2-3 weeks. Thursday 31 st Aug from 8:30pm: What s the Pint? A number of us from the Parish meet on the last Thursday of each month for a social evening.
