We now handle registration for all our Walks. Tricia Schneider is our new Registrar. Her email is pschneider@austin.rr.com, and her telephone number is 512-618-7340. All pilgrim applications will go to Tricia instead of being sent to San Antonio. Go to our website www.hays praise.org for pilgrim applications, and send them to her. The team and pilgrim cost is $230.00 with scholarships available. Upcoming Woman s Walk 1830 is May 12-15, 2016, at Camp Young Judaea with Rebecca Oates as Lay Director, Chris Dunkin as Board Rep and Tricia Schneider as the outside team coordinator. The Men s Walk1850 will be Sept 29 - Oct 2, 2016, at Camp Young Judaea with Daniel Oates as Lay Director and Wade Albert as the Board Rep. Woman s Walk 1865 with Lady Director Jenny Gelsone is scheduled for December 1-4, 2016. We as ordinary people are called to do extraordinary things. Accept this call and be ready to receive the blessing that will come. There are ways you can be called: sign up for a prayer vigil, attend local gatherings, make agape, be a part of a Fourth Day group, work on an outside team, be a team member on a walk, sponsor a pilgrim, attend candlelight, write an agape letter to a pilgrim or a team member. Remember when you received your cross on your pilgrim walk, you were reminded that Christ is Counting on You. A reminder that on April 30 the Fischer of Men reunion group with the team members of Men s Walk 1850 are having a fundraiser to help with team registration costs. Come out for an evening with a great BBQ meal, unique live and silent auction items and dancing. Ya ll Come! Are you in a reunion group? The Emmaus reunion group is comprised of two to six persons who have usually participated in a three day Walk to Emmaus. These groups provide accountability to its members while encouraging them to continue their pursuit of a life with God and His loving grace. These small follow-up groups help pilgrims translate the message conveyed on the Walk to Emmaus weekend into their daily walk with Christ. With the regular support of a few faithful friends, the gift of God s love in Jesus Christ becomes a lifestyle of Christian discipleship through the threefold discipline of piety, study, and action. Reunion groups are on the hayspraise.org website or contact your Lay Director for help. Pilgrims of Walk 1825, Welcome to the Emmaus Family! Community Reports Buda/Kyle/Manchaca Nothing reported... Canyon Lake/Northshore Nothing reported... Dripping Springs/Driftwood DeColores! 2016 brought in exciting times for Dripping Springs/Driftwood Emmaus local community. We were blessed to host the first two HPE Community Gatherings at DSUMC: Walk 1825 Team Consecration in February and Walk 1825 Welcome Back in March. The awesome turnout, the inspirational music, the wonderful fellowship, and the heart-felt testimonies of the new Fourth Day showed that Hays Praise Emmaus community is growing and changing lives. To God be the glory. As we continue into 2016, a strong effort will be initiated to increase Emmaus awareness in Dripping Springs and Driftwood; to actively seek out volunteers to take leadership roles in the our local community; to bring new fundraiser ideas to support our scholarship program; and to increase participation in our local Gatherings. As Christ has called us to be His hands and feet, let us joyfully and faithfully go into our church and community proclaiming the Good News and showing those around us how that spiritual, agapefilled 72-hour retreat called the Walk to Emmaus inspired us to change our lives! Shalom, Marty Gruene Gruene continues to meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 at GUMC. We have great pot lucks. Even when the numbers are few, we always have plenty in every category!! We will meet in April and May and break for the summer as many of our group travels during those months. We are blessed with a range of ages and interests which provides for great fellowship and discussion. We hope to see many of you there, Jamey San Marcos We had a wonderful start to 2016 with a large local gathering at Solid Rock Church on January 5, 2016. Food and fellowship at 6:30 with communion and worship to follow. Jodie Howard will be our Fourth Day speaker, and you will not want to miss a great testimony! Let s keep our sprit alive! Blessings to all, Marty Sorell Wimberley We are looking forward to our local gathering April 5. Kenneth Strange will be our fourth day speaker. We are meeting at WUMC at 6:30 for potluck.
