CONNECTIONS from your Pastor s Heart Easter Celebration Preparation! The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the most important event in human history. The resurrection validates the mission and message of Jesus. The resurrection verifies Christ s identity, defeats our ultimate enemy, and draws seekers into Christ s forever family! As we approach Easter, let s prepare our hearts with the following activities: 1. Make Worship a Priority both personal and corporate. Privately, drink deeply from the Gospel cup of Luke 22-24. Inject yourself into the scenes of the crucifixion and resurrection and hear the angel say, He is not here, but He is risen just as He said! Throughout the day in the birds that sing and in virtually everything, receive signals about God s provision, and praise Him for sharing His love and light which comes streaming from the cross and empty tomb! Make Easter worship services a top priority for your calendar. Attend the Palm Sunday worship experience. Share in the beauty of Communion on Wednesday evening. At noon on Good Friday come and relive the events of the cross. Be in your place for the glorious Resurrection Celebration on April 1st. End Easter at the AWAKEN city-wide service at Riverwalk Stadium. Be in God s house with God s people to hear God s Word and give Him your worship. 2. Use Easter to invite and bring unchurched friends to hear the Gospel. If you invite them, they will come. Your invitation can create the opportunity for God to change someone now and forever. Use this Easter to introduce your friends to your Savior. 3. Let God s great gift of eternal life in Christ prompt you to give a great gift to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. This offering fuels God s work of evangelism and church planting in North America through our Baptist team. Join me in giving a significant and impactful gift to God s work through the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. This Easter season, let s emulate the angels who said to the astonished disciples, Come and see, then go and tell!
