The Caldwell Family I Need a Good Home: The LWML was bequeathed a beautiful full-sized hand-crocheted bedspread several years ago to do with as the group desired. Upon discussion, it was decided to auction it off through a silent bid. Proceeds from the sale of the spread will go to the Spirit Center Fund. If you are interested in placing a bid, the bid must start at $100.00. Research has been done indicating that the value of the spread is worth that amount and more. If you are interested in seeing the spread and placing a written bid, please see Jeannette Gantt in the church office. Bids should be placed by the end of January.

Scrip Gift Cards: Purchase or order gift cards from Sherry Kenworthy (310-4405) or Jeannette in the church office. The LWML thanks you. The profit from these cards is used for the ongoing needs of the Spirit Center. Four Sentences (Matthew 4:20) Immediately they left their nets and followed him. Discipleship cost Peter and Andrew everything they had: they left their trade, their hometown, their families and they followed Jesus. God has called us to the same discipleship the same devotion, though the exact details of how that is lived out will vary. The important thing is this: that we know that all we have is the Lord s, to be used for His purpose, that we are His disciples, ready to follow where He leads. Miriam Circle Mission Project: We are collecting large gallon cans of food for the Hickory Soup Kitchen and the Corner Table. We will be collecting these through the end of March. We invite you to help us make this a success. Just leave the cans in the back hallway. Questions, call Dixie Ingram @310-3312. Items needed are: tomato sauce, tomato paste, green beans, fruit, baked beans, corn, lima beans, pudding and yams. Baby Shower for Pregnancy Care Center: The LWML is sponsoring a baby shower for the pregnancy care center. If you would like to participate by donating items for babies, please put your donations in the playpen located in the back hallway of the church. Thank you in advance for your participation. The Crocheters and Loomers are taking donations of socks and gloves (all sizes). We will be handing them out at Sandy Ridge Baptist at the Soup Kitchen of Hickory s lunch for homeless of Catawba County on Saturday, February 4 th. We will have boxes at the front and back of the church for the next 2 Sundays. Thank you so much for your donations and God bless us all. Time Capsule: We have heard that historical items were placed into the church and education building at the time of construction. If you have eye witness knowledge of this and where they were placed, please contact the church office with that information.

Voters Meeting next Sunday during the Sunday School hour. Copies of the agenda, minutes and financial report can be picked up at the bulletin stations. Please plan to attend. Lutheran Women in Mission. Church ladies are famous for the bees in their bonnets: they re always engaged on projects to spread the Gospel while delivering comfort and cheer to needy individuals and worthy causes at home and far away. Not just at our church, either: mission projects slosh back and forth among many congregations in our area; we share ideas and combine efforts for maximum impact. An example of just that is coming this month. Mark your calendar and plan to attend.
