GOD S MERCY IS FOR EVERYONE ROMANS 11
Application DO NOT BE PROUD, BOASTFUL, OR BRAG about our Salvation
But you must not brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off (Rom 11:18a NLT). So don t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen. For if God did not spare the original branches, he won t spare you either (Rom 11:20b, 21 NLT). I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves (Rom 11:25a NLT).
Reason 1 REMEMBER THE GRACE OF GOD
A. GOD DID NOT REJECT HIS OWN PEOPLE, ISRAEL I ask, then, has God rejected his own people, the nation of Israel? Of course not! I myself am an Israelite (Rom 11:1a NLT). No, God has not rejected his own people, whom he chose from the very beginning (Rom 11:2a NLT). And do you remember God s reply? He said, No, I have 7,000 others who have never bowed down to Baal! (Rom 11:4 NLT). Did God s people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! (Rom 11:11a NLT).
B. GOD SAVES ISRAEL BY HIS GRACE It is the same today, for a few of the people of Israel have remained faithful because of God s grace his undeserved kindness in choosing them. And since it is through God s kindness, then it is not by their good works. For in that case, God s grace would not be what it really is free and undeserved (Rom 11:5-6 NLT).
C. GOD MADE SALVATION AVAILABLE FOR THE GENTLES TOO So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have the ones God has chosen but the hearts of the rest were hardened (Rom 11:7 NLT). Did God s people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! They were disobedient, so God made salvation available to the Gentiles. But he wanted his own people to become jealous and claim it for themselves. Now if the Gentiles were enriched because the people of Israel turned down God s offer of salvation, think how much greater a blessing the world will share when they finally accept it (Rom 11:11-12 NLT).
D.#WE#ARE#ALL#PRODUCTS#OF#THE#GRACE#OF#GOD# Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God s anger, just like everyone else (Eph 2:1-3 NLT). But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God s grace that you have been saved!) Eph 2:4-5 NLT
Reason 2 REMEMBER THE GRAFTING OF GOD
A. GENTLES RECEIVES THE SAME BLESSING AS THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL But some of these branches from Abraham s tree some of the people of Israel have been broken off. And you Gentiles, who were branches from a wild olive tree, have been grafted in. So now you also receive the blessing God has promised Abraham and his children, sharing in the rich nourishment from the root of God s special olive tree. But you must not brag about being grafted in to replace the branches that were broken off. You are just a branch, not the root (Rom 11:17-18 NLT).
B. WARNING FOR ALL WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN CHRIST Well, you may say, those branches were broken off to make room for me. Yes, but remember those branches were broken off because they didn t believe in Christ, and you are there because you do believe. So don t think highly of yourself, but fear what could happen. For if God did not spare the original branches, he won t spare you either. Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off (Rom 11:19-22 NLT).

Reason 3 REMEMBER THE GLORY OF GOD
A. IT S ALL ABOUT GOD S GLORY, NOT US Oh, how great are God s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the Lord s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen (Rom 11:33-36 NLT).
B.##BE#HUMBLE#AND#BE#IN#AWE#OF#GOD# For I am the least of all the apostles. In fact, I m not even worthy to be called an apostle after the way I persecuted God s church (1 Cor 15:9 NLT). Although I am less than the least of all the Lord s people, this grace was given me: to preach to the Gentiles the boundless riches of Christ (Eph 3:8 NIV). $ This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners and I am the worst of them all (1 Tim 1:15 NLT).
Main Focus: GOD S MERCY IS FOR EVERYONE
A. ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ. And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say, The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness. And this is my covenant with them, that I will take away their sins. (Rom 11:25-27 NLT).
Ponder: Will all Israel be saved?
B. EVERYONE WHO CALLS UPON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For God s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn. Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against him, God was merciful to you instead. Now they are the rebels, and God s mercy has come to you so that they, too, will share in God s mercy. For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone (Rom 11:28-32 NLT cf Rom 10:13).
