We raised approximately $1580 as a school community an amazing effort. What is important is that through the fundraising, there was a lot of fun, but also an awareness of the needs of others that was raised. The focus for Catholic Missions this year is the church in Mongolia. More information about the work completed by Catholic Missions is available on their website at www.catholicmission.org.au. Last Friday was also World Teachers Day, and this was acknowledged at our whole school assembly on Monday morning. Thank you to the Parents and Friends Association, and all of the families who presented certificates to our hard working teachers. One student commented that we celebrate the day on behalf of all those students who have been before us, and those yet to come. This is very true. Teachers touch the lives of hundreds of students, and students have the opportunity to interact with many teachers, not just the class teacher for this year. We are very fortunate at Sacred Heart to have such dedicated and passionate teachers. This Friday we celebrate the Feast of All Saints, with a whole school mass in the Church at 9am. This is a day when we remember all of the saints, but as Australians, we especially remember and reflect on the life of Mary MacKillop, Australia s first saint. You are most welcome to come and join in the mass with our school community. As you would have noticed, the weather is definitely heating up, and we have had a few storms to break up the heat. The UV Index is at extreme at this time of the year, so it is essential that students are wearing hats when outside classrooms. This is not only school policy, but demonstrates Sun Smart behaviour as well. Your support in ensuring your child has a hat at school is appreciated. We look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night at the Halloween Bash Disco in the Undercover Area between 6pm 7.30pm. Have a fantastic week ahead.
