We invite you to come to confession this Monday between 3 p.m. 9 p.m. As a matter of fact, all Catholic Churches will have a priest available during those times tomorrow. In Manhattan, Bronx, Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk that s more than 800 churches that will be open with a priest available to hear your confession! And immediately they left their nets and followed him" (Mk 1:17) Notice how in the gospel Jesus' invitation to the first apostles is not to change entirely who they were or what they did, but bring it to a greater dimension. They were fishermen and He called them to be fishers of men. Jesus calls each and everyone of us to serve Him and His Church by putting into service our passions, our abilities, our talents...and bring them to a deeper and more meaningful dimension. Our parish school will offer a beautiful play based on the Passion of JESUS THIS Monday of Holy Week April 14 immediately after the 9 a.m. mass in the main church. Those who are able are urged to attend. It s a wonderful way to support our young people as well as a meditation to help us enter into Holy Week. CATHOLIC SCHOOL AT ST. BARTHOLOMEW As you know our parish has a Catholic School that serves our families. The school accepts children from Pre-K to 8 th grade. Our school offers religion every day, sacrament preparation, art, music, computers and all other required subjects. Tuition is approximately $400 per month but- there are many scholarships available to help you. If you attend mass every Sunday here at St. Barts, Fr Rick will offer your family an additional scholarship: Pastor s Scholarship. Here s what will be required: We will need an updated (new) copy of your certificate of baptism You need to be a registered parishioner of St. Bartholomew and attend mass every Sunday You will need to attend all 5 classes As you know, if you are not married in the church (married civilly) or living in a relationship you cannot receive any sacrament until the issue is resolved. For more information and for registration come to a brief meeting on Monday, April 28 at 6p.m. in Heafey Hall (Ithaca Street).
