DOYLESTOWN MENNONITE CHURCH: P r ayer Guide DMC participants: Richard and Ethel Rush, Dock Woods Community, Pray blessings for Richard and Ethel and their neighbors. Pray for us as a congregation here at DMC to experience the shalom of God during this Advent season and to freely share it with others in our communities. Pray for the family and friends of Dominic Liples, the 8 yr.old boy who attended DMC soccer camp in 2015. He lost his battle with brain cancer this past week. Pray for comfort and a sense of God s presence. REGIONAL Spruce Lake- Give thanks for the renovations that have begun in Homestead Lodge. Pray for the Lord's guidance and favor for Wilderness camp project building permits as they are in conversation with Barrett Township. GLOBAL: Mennonite churches in Bolivia have vacation Bible school this month. Margrit Kipfer Barrón, serving with Mennonite Mission Network, helps prepare the curriculum and train teachers. Pray that the Spirit of God will move in a powerful way among the children who attend and their families.

PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES: P r ayer Guide Advent Prayer Together Friday, Dec. 16, 9-10 am. We meet in the Upstairs Prayer Room. Come and go as you are able. Calendar for Prayer Rooms If you would like to reserve a spot in the prayer room for the month of December, please signup on the bulletin board. A prayer for this week Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord s coming. James 5:7 In what ways are you experiencing suffering and find it difficult to be patient? How might Jesus help you to be faithful and patient? God, You are an Almighty God. All your ways are good, true and right. We seek to be faithful to you in the midst of waiting for your kingdom to come in all its fullness. We pray today for increased patience as we learn to live in a world that knows so much suffering. May you joy flood our hearts as you work in us, among us, and around us. You deserve all the glory. Amen.

DMC Notes Since Christmas Day and New Year s Day are both on Sunday this year, MLT wanted to let you know of the Sunday schedule for those days. There will be NO Sunday School either day. Christmas Day service will be at 10 AM. New Year s Day service will be 11 AM. In addition to these, we will have our traditional Christmas Eve Service at 7 PM. Children's Activity Bags for worship: These bags have been re-done recently, and there are five at each church entrance. There will be fresh pages each week, for children to color. There are also puzzles or other little activities in there to engage them. We hope you feel free to make use of these bags. Any feedback can be given to KrisAnne Swartley. SHALOM- Thank you to Steve Landes for the beautiful and meaningful advent visual for the front table! May it remind us that God brings Shalom through Jesus, right into the midst of the rubble of the world and our lives. We invite you to add to the rubble at any time during Advent, as God brings to mind the situations in your life where you long to experience shalom (healing, peace, wholeness, well-being). Bring something from home, or use rubble from the basket at the front. There are still Advent devotionals available on the organ bench, which include more scriptures and meditations about God's Shalom. Please feel free to take one and use it. CHRISTMAS CAROLING!! Please come join us on Dec. 14 at 6:30 pm to sing Christmas Carols in Don and Kathy s neighborhood. All are welcome-we will meet at the Heckler s home. Refreshments to follow. Cookie Social!! On Sunday January 1st we will have our Christmas Cookie Social time following the service. Each family please bring 1 dozen cookies or snack to share. Beverage will be provided. Thank You. Christmas Offering---As previously announced, we surpassed our mission giving goal by roughly $3,000. Ministry Leadership Team decided to send $2,000 of this amount to the Spanish Church in Philadelphia so that our total sent to them was $5,200. The remaining balance along with our Christmas Eve offering will go towards the new gym being built at Spruce Lake Wilderness Camp. We have a copy of a letter from Spruce Lake providing more information about this project. Thank you for your faithful generosity. Please be sure to see the letter in your mailbox regarding our 2017 theme and worship times for January and February.
